I hate to have a coat with me in a store, gets too hot and I need my hands for snatching up deals!

bigkahunafish
Given the fact that it got pretty ugly at Menards last year, I may need to revise my gear. One old lady told me she was prepared for anything and patted her purse; I didn't ask further, but it was probably a good idea. First it was very cold (say 5-10º). I'm thinking coveralls this year perhaps. Steel-toed boots were great. The stampede wasn't as bad with them as I blocked line-pushers/rushers to protect my pregnant wife. A pocket-knife was handy: it helped me open a fresh pallet-crate full of fleece-blankets that was a couple aisles over from the only "known" one. We just let those people fight it out for them while we took our pick. Cellphones are a must-wear one on a holster: have one cart manned in a quiet location with many runners. Once you're close to being done, that cart can get in line and the runners can contine obtaining items. On second thought, those coveralls would restrict runner movement...... KrisChampagne
Layers, layers, and more layers. I wear my coat right up until a few minute before the doors open, then I run my coat and my mom's out to the car and we suffer the last little bit. kellane26
Definitely layers. I don't like to wear a coat so I usually do a hoodie with a couple of layers underneath.
