    Meijers

go to the other meijer topic.... brad posted the thankgiving and saturday links there as well
  8. Last year at elderbeerman we got a nice sleeper couch for like $400... pretty high quality too.
  9. meijer was the ad that is really good for us. now waiting on menards... thats the last one I need.
  10. I think last year this was posted because someone got it in the paper early. Any word?
  11. red dot prices only bf. other numbers til dec 6
  12. i think the thanksgiving and saturday ones are better!
  13. they aren't going to have very many 50" plasmas.... maybe 4
  14. I contacted Menards through their website and informed them of the chaos in the lines last year and that they might do well to control it (the line rushers). A real person emailed me back within a couple hours saying they'd look into it. I encourage all of you to do the same.
  15. Given the fact that it got pretty ugly at Menards last year, I may need to revise my gear. One old lady told me she was prepared for anything and patted her purse; I didn't ask further, but it was probably a good idea. First it was very cold (say 5-10º). I'm thinking coveralls this year perhaps. Steel-toed boots were great. The stampede wasn't as bad with them as I blocked line-pushers/rushers to protect my pregnant wife. A pocket-knife was handy: it helped me open a fresh pallet-crate full of fleece-blankets that was a couple aisles over from the only "known" one. We just let those people fight it out for them while we took our pick. Cellphones are a must-wear one on a holster: have one cart manned in a quiet location with many runners. Once you're close to being done, that cart can get in line and the runners can contine obtaining items. On second thought, those coveralls would restrict runner movement......
  16. I have to admit; I am a globe grabber. My wife now has 4 or 5 of them I think. I can't stop now....
  17. We skipped sears last year. Used to go when they gave out the $10 free cards, but we stood in line for menards instead. well worth it.

    Meijers

We go to Meijer generally next to last. They usually still have most of the items left.
  19. I just want the snowglobe then I'm out of there to get in line elsewhere. :)
  20. we decided to skip lowes last year and opt to go to menards and other places instead. we came back to lowes on saturday evening and items were still there and had even been marked down! Last year I think they had an artificial lighted christmas tree (basically identical to the one this year) for $24 in the ad. We came back on saturday and it was $19.
  21. We were at menards this weekend and noticed large numbers of mixing bowl sets (stainless and ceramic), boot warmers, inflatable beds, steak knife sets, flatware sets, and boxes of crayola markers/coloring book sets. Also: there were pots/pans sets (aluminum type) as well as baking sets with cupcake pans and the like.
