I am needing a copy of at least the student version of MS Office, I would like to get multi user or something so I can put it on the kids computers....so they will not be asking for mine when they have reports. I have found the student version for $100.00.

Here is a three-user student version for $84.95:

Are you certain they need M$ Office? Open Office, which is donationware from openoffice.org has 85% of the same functions and can easily open, edit and save in the Microsoft formats (.doc, .xls, etc.)

OpenOffice can even be installed on a flash drive so they can work on any computer, including computer labs at school or at "Grandma's house".

---

However, if they MUST use Microsoft Office, the best deal is through the "Ultimate Steal" offer:

http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=82415 (it's for the Ultimate version, not the stripped down Student version)

Apparently, Microsoft is going to start that up again on August 20th.

I agree... unless they are learning MS Office specifically, I would go with OpenOffice for free. It can save/read most office formats.

The school is requiring MS Office for an intro to careers course that DS16 is taking.

Have they set up any special educational purchasing arrangement with MS?

I got the whole Microsoft Office suite for $59 or $69 last year I think. They said it was valued over $500.

It was a special promo through Microsoft but you had to have a .edu email address.

You probably got it through the deal I posted above...
