Venusaur
Wow thanks I could always use a free phone. If I took the SIM card out of my current nokia phone and put it in this one, would it work? Or not since it's a prepaid phone?
samisma
it'll work. :) so long as it's tmobile sim card into a tmobile phone - you're golden doesn't matter if it's a prepaid. the phone's memory/data is all on that little card. :)
Mommy2Four
Thanks, totally a PITA to order but this will be a good replacement for my current phone.
Spring_Mommy
Fine print when you get to the check out page says that a 24 month contract comes with that free phone. I called to see if this is correct and the rep said yes I will be held to a 24 month contract to getthe phone free.
idlebrain
its a prepaid phone, for which there won't be any contract or commitment. Typically for any contract/commitment phone which is post-paid they will collect SSN and other details and do credit check. I just ordered this phone but never asked for any SSN or other details. Also in the check out, its clearly mentioned -> * Not applicable for T-Mobile To Go customers.
Nat1128
you can get virtually the same prepaid Nokia 2610 from AT&T for $9.99 and it comes with $10 of airtime, making it free without having to mail anything in and wait weeks or months to get your money back. You can also choose whether you want pay as you go or pick your plan http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/packages/packages-details.jsp?q_package=sku1150033&_requestid=5564 http://i32.tinypic.com/10gl5wg.gif
Nat1128
actually, they must've changed it from when I got mine a few months ago. Now it is $25 but includes $25 of airtime, so it's still free and also $5 less than you have to pay up front for the T-mobile one
Spring_Mommy
Anyone get this and mail in the rebate without the prepaid service? I need a replacement for my phone but I don't want to spend much money and don't want a contract. I was told by customer service their would be a contract and the website says -> "Offer available only through purchase of Prepaid device and qualified Prepaid Service plan." But pp said no service plan needed.
