I had read somewhere once where someone made the method of payment by check and then switched it later to the card they wanted to put it on. Controllers, the actual Wii, our ipods, cell phones, etc. Is it just cosmetic and a way for the merchants to make more money. Reminds me of the way everyone used to put seat covers on the seats in a new car. I always figured I would enjoy them, and then if they wore out I would put seat covers on then. Also, if you notice in the previews most people are on there barefoot, and since your feet sweat the sleeve probably is also for anti-slip so you dont bust your booty when you're excercising.
