Sorry... but that's funny. LOL!!!!

This reminded me of the Christmas card that I received from Jackson Hewitt Friday. (I took their tax class & will start working w/ them in Jan.)

They sent me a very pretty popup Christmas card with a ink pen that says Happy Holidays from Jackson Hewitt. I thought Ohhh.. that was sweet of them.

My mail carrier left a yellow envelope w/ the card wanting .89 for postage due. So I ended up paying .89 for the pen. :lmao:

This is hilarious :sidesplit

My husband is working for a new company this year. Rummer is boss does give a nice bonus. The last thing I would do is have my husband ask how much. But I sure wouldn't plan on using it for Christmas. They get it at the last minute right before Christmas. Could be $50 or more. I would be happy with anything. We haven't seen a bonus in this house for many years.

We don't get a christmas bonus, but the president did decree that we get an extra day off this year (24th).

w00t!

But to answer your question...

No, I wouldn't ask. You've already been told it is coming, so I would just be patient and wait for it. But that is me.

Glad you figured everything out.

We don't get a bonus, but we do get a double paycheck because the school district is frugal and doesn't want to mail out our checks during winter break.

The school district doesn't do automatic deposits?

Oh, and my wife got $350, not bad having only been there two months. Since I am self-employed, I think I'll take myself out to lunch.

DH works for a very profitable casino and they got a day's pay (after taxes it was around 50 bucks) and a plush bathrobe... DH wears a XXL and everyone got a MEDIUM..... popcorn at least my kids would have eaten.... bathrobe will sit till someone gets old enough to grow into it.

I don't know if we are getting a bonus this year or not every year I create a spreed sheet of who got what last year and how long the employees have been with us and I e-mail it to the owner and usually I get it back the second week of Dec with the amounts so I can cash a check and get everything ready...this year I still haven't gotten the bonus sheet back and I asked about it because I am taking a half day this Friday so if I am going to do it then I want to get it done as of now there has been no reply :(

I got $300.00. Not, what I personally call generous- at least not by what she's implying. In my field- standard would be $500-1000-- but I am grateful. I know many people don't get anything at all. So, something is always appreciated over nothing.

We are also getting out after 1/2 a day tomorrow and paid until 12/26 so- that's a bonus too.

WOW..... the largest bonus I have ever gotten was 100.00..... and that was a one time "you guys made us a lot of $ this year" award, not truly a christmas bonus... every other year it's a 10 dollar GC to a local gift/flower shop and a half of a ham..... If I got 300.00 I'd be hugging my boss.... lol

The way that we do the Christmas Bonus is that if you are Management then the first year your here you get $200.00 and then every year after it goes up $100.00 until you get a weeks pay. The laborers get $100.00 the first year and that goes up $50.00 per year until you get a weeks pay.

So I think that you got a good bonus leefamily23 and time off as well sounds good to me!

I would say $300 very generous. My DH gets $10 for every year here with his company, and he's a manager.

Even though my dh got a bonus this year, compared to how his boss is, it was nothing! Now, I have to paint the small picture so you will all know what we are dealing with.

His boss just bought a 2.5 million dollar house, just bought a $95,000 new car, buys $10-20k watches every few months, has taken 3 $10k vacations in the last 6 months and plenty more crap! He had to try and find the cheapest restaurant he could for our Chrimstas party this year that nobody wanted to go to anyway and we wound up with $200! :(

My dh busts his butt for this man making him millions of $$ each year and each year, although the boss keeps getting richer and richer, the Christmas gifts/bonuses keep going down and down!

Oh, also, one other thing, one of the boss' clients just let him have a free rented Lamborghini for last weekend and then the boss had the nerve to ask my dh why the employees didnt get him a gift!!!!

Grrrrrrrrrr

better than here where they announced (just in time for the holidays) the intent to eliminate 400 positions within the next 2 years.

We are actually getting a 1/2 day paid off tomorrow- and then the full day Monday and Tuesday for the holiday's paid. Tomorrow- our boss is ordering pizza @11:30- said we should go home by 12:30pm (w/ pay for the rest of the day). I'm all for that.

It's not that it's not bad for the first year. My last 2 job's my first year I got $500.00 and then $800.00. Just seem's the medical professional's around here are generous. The upside we're getting 12% of our salary into our 401k this year (even those that only started this year) and we get a portion of the profit sharing into a retirement account too-- not really sure how that works. But I'm told it will be several grand. Those are part of our "year end bonus" too they wrote in the appreciation/bonus letter.

I do miss getting a bonus. I drive a school bus so I get nada, LOL. We do get a HUGE turkey at Thanksgiving but that is about it.

In my past administrative positions though I got $1000 a year. It was really nice for sure. Our boss was so nice. It was a fairly small company and he treated his employees very nicely. $25 gc on birthdays, nice parties and after 10 years of employment he gave $10,000 NET - he paid the taxes. I miss that job, sigh.

Last year I got a book of Lifesavers.

This year we got our merit increases reinstated (there has been no increases of any kind in almost 3 years) so I got 3% and that is for 2 years with out an increase.

Wow I wouldn't complain then!

Hey I wouldn't complain about any form of bonus, it's all better than nothing. My husband found out Friday that he lost his job....nice, one week before Christmas!! Thank God for the Amazon thread, we saved a ton there and all the gifts are bought and wrapped! So at least it will be a Merry Christmas...not sure about the new year though.

Thanks. Oh well, at least every night when I come home the dishes, laundry and the errands are done. And...to top it off, him and our 3-year old daughter are baking cookies for Santa tomorrow. Guess it's a bit of a blessing in disguise....for now. I'm sure something good will come along, we've been through worse and we've come out, not necessarily smelling like a rose...but we survive!

I've heard more than once that God doesn't give us more than we can handle....well I'm looking to the sky and saying "Are ya kidding me?"

I've also heard that these types of things build character....okay...I'm starting to look like Tweety Bird...is that character enough?

Thank God for giving me a sense of humor and for the small invention of liquor...otherwise it could get ugly!!

We get a half-day off tomorrow and also Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with pay. We also got dinner out last Saturday night at a really nice restaurant. Our bonus checks were given out at dinner. I got $300.00. Tomorrow we will go out for lunch and they will give us $50.00 gift cards to a local restaurant. I consider myself very lucky to be working here this time of year.

I guess I can't complain too much either. I work for a Dr.s office - 30 co workers + 3 Dr.s. Every year we have an awsome X-mas party at a really nice place -keep in mind the "main" Dr. is Jewish so he does this all just for the staff. And we get our bonus checks. Amount depends on how many days/ hours you work. At 5 and 10 years he buys jewelery for the girls!!! I work about 20 hours a week in the business office and get a $200 bonus. But we also get bonus checks (based on production) almost every month of the year for like $50. He also gives us gas vouchers for one fill up every month. And before I started working there (darn) he took everyone 3yrs ago on a 4 day paid trip to Mexico!!! I work a great place I'm very lucky. I love my Dr!!
