Gray04 Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 Loving the pictures! Have enjoyed seeing toppers other than an angel and a star. Next year I am going to try something different.
crystalp Posted December 1, 2007 Author Posted December 1, 2007 Gorgeous Trees everyone! I love the snowman topper!
crystalp Posted December 1, 2007 Author Posted December 1, 2007 Oh also loved the "model" in one of the tree pictures!! LOL!! She is too cute!
lindabacker Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 You could make some little anchors kind of like I did with the ACU stockings possibly. Also most of the craft stores sell the little wood embellisments, many of them already painted. You might be able to find some little ships there & use those as ornaments. Maybe even make or buy some small US flags to add to the tree. I also made my tree skirt myself. Just got the blue fabric at wal-mart for $1 a yard and added red ribbon and little star ornaments ment for a small tree. I just glued them on with some fabric glue and used stitch witchery to add the ribbon. (the stuff you put between to fabrics and iron to make a hem without sewing) I purchased all of my ribbon at the dollar tree. I think there was about 12-18 feet on each roll & it made about 2-3 bows to each roll. Hope this gave you a few ideas. It was a lot of fun to come up with all of the ideas & in some little way, I think it is all making the holidays without my husband a little easier to bear. Thanks for the advise and inspiration - gonna go shopping today to see what I can come up with. Anything to make the holiday a little easier.
laffnatu Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 I love the daddy come home tree. It's a great idea! All of the trees are beautiful!! Dramaqueenlucy - I LOVE your fireplace!!
aerosmithgirl Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 Yes hwolf, where did you find your snowman topper? I love it!
hwolf6330 Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 Yes hwolf, where did you find your snowman topper? I love it!Thanks. I bought him at a Home and Garden store. They decorate around 15 trees every year. It gives you great ideas with all of the theme trees. He is not an actual topper though. He is just a head and I fasten him to the top of the tree with wire.
DramaQueenLucy Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 Dramaqueenlucy - I LOVE your fireplace!!Thanks!!!
jazzy442 Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 Thanks. I bought him at a Home and Garden store. They decorate around 15 trees every year. It gives you great ideas with all of the theme trees. He is not an actual topper though. He is just a head and I fasten him to the top of the tree with wire. I have seen the snowman head things for the tops of the trees in the Elder Beerman ads with their Christmas trees and decorations. I bet they are on the pricey side but after Christmas is another story if you can find one. I want one as well so might have to check it out.
Grassy Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 I just signed up for flickr. I already uploaded my tree pictures to the website, I can't seem to figure out how ot post it on here. Can anyone help me? I bet it's something simple that I'm just missing. Thanks.
