teresa92 Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 I have a Dell Dimension 2300. I have 256mb and would like to go to 1gb. Dell wants $125 for 512mb and I know that I (with your help ) can do better than that. Here's the specs that Dell says I need - link Thanks!Teresa
RossMAN Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 Bad news: This may have been a pricemistake but you missed two great deals $29 for 512MB PC133 SDRAM @ Outpost.com (no longer available)$39 for 512MB PC133 at Walmart.com plus shipping (price is now $127.43) Good news: I did find high quality RAM for $102.99 at Crucial.comThey usually have a 10% or 15% off URL, not sure if that's still offered or not.
teresa92 Posted March 6, 2005 Author Posted March 6, 2005 Oooh those were great deals! Would this work from newegg? I'm unsure what is or isn't compatible with my system.
RossMAN Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 No that will not work but NewEgg.com does have affordable RAM, you want 512MB PC133 168 pin SDRAM. Mushkin, Corsair and Crucial are all good reputable brands.
teresa92 Posted March 6, 2005 Author Posted March 6, 2005 Thanks for your help Ross. Hopefully a hot deal will come before long. At least now I know what type of RAM to search for :)
i-bystander Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 Interesting... where do you use the 184-pin SDRAM as opposed to the 168-pin?
aplefka Posted March 14, 2005 Posted March 14, 2005 Interesting... where do you use the 184-pin SDRAM as opposed to the 168-pin?All I've used since I can remember is 184-pin, though I found a stick of 168-pin cleaning the other day. Edit: Fry's usually has good deals on Corsair RAM, but only on 184-pin usually.
