  1. I'd go with a 360 just because they're newer gen and will see games for some time to come. A little more pricey but worth it in the long run in my opinion. But you could probably find a cheap bundle for a PS2 and games, so it goes either way. Games for the 360 are still pretty expensive. Edit: Fry's had a deal not too long ago (1-2 weeks) for a 360 and a game and it wasn't too bad if I recall correctly. Check out Pricegrabber as well.
  2. Has anyone ever used one of these before? I've seen them for a while now but I'm curious as to how well they actually work.
  3. I'm wondering if I go to my local BB if I'll see any preparations for BF taking place already.
  4. Not sure if I will be buying anything to resell, I need what little I can afford to buy for myself.
  5. Just curious, I only browsed through the thread and might have missed it. Did anyone see the 19" MAG monitor that's gonna be $169 AR? And does anyone have any idea on how much the rebate will be for?
  6. I can't believe I haven't checked this site since the shirts have gone official. This thread is almost a month old and I didn't even know. Gonna try to make an order tomorrow, hopefully you still have some XL left and some pens.
  7. I would recommend going with the 301. It'll be nice enough to last a good 5-7 years. Why bother paying less for something that won't be as nice for as long?
  8. Great deal... wish I had the money. Any chance you guys could find one on RG-6 coax?
  9. Man, I wish I had seen this the day it was created. Tomorrow I'm going to be really busy and I'm too tired now, but one of my former teachers who is also a psychology teacher has taught me the way to find brand new cars for anywhere from 15-40% off of the sticker price, which works out to being cheaper than a used car. I will write a guide one of these days, but this coming week, starting tomorrow, I'm gonna be really busy. Sorry I can't help out this time.
  10. Eh, I know you decided to buy this model already, but I thought I might add that I have either the model or two before it, and the DVD laser broke within less then a year of having it. And in that time we've watched maybe 50-85 movies, so it hasn't been used that much even. Very disappointed in Toshiba
  11. Yet another thread that could be solved if we had that list of websites I suggested Ross. There's one called http://www.supermediastore.com or something and they have Ridata +Rs for really cheap. I'm out of DVDs myself right now and it's kind of a pain because I want to get all the South Park off of my computer and reformat, but I can't.
  12. Factory-2-U is where I get my clothes from. Cheap as hell and good quality.
  13. So I was looking at the non-MCE version and it runs for about 20 bucks more. I'm tempted to go for that one, unless anyone can find me that remote for cheap somewhere else. I don't really quite understand though, what is the remote used for and how can you use a remote if there's no infrared in the front? Edit: So I realized the BASE PRICE runs $20-$25 more, not the card/remote shipped. Now I'm looking at close to $100. Maybe I should check out Fry's or Circuit City or Best Buy for this tuner?
  14. This is how hot deals get you. They get you first with a price somewhat lower than all the rest on a product, and then it's hook, line, and sinker when they give you some more money to spend at their store in return, because it's never enough.
  15. Depends on what you've been watching. I'm looking at adding another gig of RAM into this system and the two kits I've been watching have been dropping consistently, so we'll see tonight if they've gone up.
  16. Damn hot dealers! You spent more on your monitor than I spent on my computer almost. I think the total was $482 or for this system.
  17. Looks like you ended up alright. That card should do fine for what you're doing. Editing avi and mpeg files doesn't really require much because it's not like you're rendering graphics or anything. If you were using Maya or Lightwave or something of that nature, then you might want to reconsider, but I think you'll be very happy with your choice. Hell, I was running 1.6 on a GeForce 4 MX440, and many people know that those are the worst cards ever. Enjoy your new toy (2005fpw)!
  18. Divx? I encode in Xvid now, gives about 6 more kB/s rates at a slightly smaller file size than Divx 5. But still, anything will save me time as right now I have to record the game to my camera, then capture from my camera to my hard dive and have Pinnacle encode it in whatever MPEG2 encoder it uses, then I have to edit and render the edited version, then go in and set it up to encode with Gordian Knot. The whole process takes up about 15-18 hours, but I'm hoping to cut that in half with a tv tuner, plus I can watch TV in my room Thanks for the help guys, I talked to my dad and he's gonna loan me some money later in this week so I can buy the 150MCE card. Now where can I find that remote that comes with the non-MCE version?
  19. So you're saying that this is like an OEM version? What else would I need to buy in addition to this to make it fully functional to be able to record/encode stuff in MPEG2 files?
  20. Gonna be tough to find them for cheap right now, I paid $100 for mine slightly used, but it was also from a really good friend and he also owed me. You're not going to find them for much cheaper than $150-175 is my guess. What exactly do you do? I'm sure you can get by with a slightly older card if you're not huge into gaming. Otherwise, for the money you'll spend on a 9800 Pro, I'd wait a few months, save up, and buy a current gen vid card.
  21. I saw the one on the front page and may be able to work something out with my budget. I'm willing to pay more if it's going to last me a while and if it's gonna save me the time I take encoding stuff right now.
  22. Looking to spend maybe $35 on it, don't want to spend more than I have to. This'll mainly be for recording stuff to my hard drive. I've looked at several different ones at NewEgg, but I figured this would be the place to go to find a cheap, yet high quality tv tuner card. Thanks a lot, and sdible, I expect to see you post here shortly as it seems you're the man at this kinda stuff.
  23. Usually the deals go over to Fry's and are cheaper. The same $70AR 160GB SATA HDD will be $50 or $60AR at b&m.
  24. Can't find it. The one deal was $8 for a 12 in 1 reader.
