suds1821
Hello all, I am interested in the 500 gb Seagate FreeAgent ext hard drive from Circuit City for $80 after MIR. Two questions: 1. How early do you think I need to be there to get this item, i.e. how many do you think they have in stock considering it's not a "doorbuster"? 2. Do you think the same deal will be available online? Thanks!

riven3d
I do not advise buying Seagate anything, I bought a 160gb on back before Halloween, had to return it the next day because it quit working, lost about 10gb of data, luckily thats all I had transfered to it. sickrubik
Seagate is normally one of the most reliable HD manufacturers. Flukes do happen though.
BellaVita
I bought a western digital last night at target and I just realized that it is only one year warrenty as the Segate one is five years.
modokislayer
I no longer buy seagate HDD's. I bought 2 160gb last year and they both failed within 6months. Luckly I always back all of my data on discs.
freesia39
that's funny, because i used to be western digital only and i had 2 200gb ones fail on me - seagate only from now on!

Shann
My friend wanted the one from Target, but turns out they only had two and he didn't get either of them, well I saw this thread and told him about it. Apparently there was one at a store prob 20 miles from here. We ended up going out to eat and I talked him into stopping at the CC, one that said they were out of stock, as it was 7:30 PM. We looked around at the external hard drives, I even got on my hands and knees and crawled on the floor looking for that one. For some reason I honestly thought we'd find one... well guess what, I DID!!! It was the only one there shoved way back :)
