theonlyone
Hey, I was wondering if there is anyway you can get around giving Wal-Mart your DL number if you don't have the receipt. I want to return these dvd's, but of course I lost the receipt. I don't want to give them my DL number for them to put in some database, so they can lose it and the whole world can find it out. It just isn't right for them to demand that of you. I was thinking of telling them it was a gift, would that work? If not, does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks. Guest vhjetski81
I've never had any problem returning "gift" items to my Wal-Mart. All they usually ask me to do is sign the receipt and give a phone #. Hope this helps. :)
jade#1
i just found out that they dont give you cash when you return and item bought with a cc they use to but they dont now and if you dont have a receipt she said that there policy changed they couldnt do it without a receipt if it was an item of a certain amount call you walmart also when i returned an item monday the greeter instead of giving you a sticker on the items they scan everything and give you a bar code for each item it was a little time consuming when i went to the register and asked about the new system she said it was stupid what they how they were changing everything so call first just to be sure
theonlyone
Well, I will try the returning it as a "gift" idea. I don't mind giving out my phone number, but I am not going to give out my DL number. Hopefully they let me do it that way.
mom2monkiesx3
Return as a "gift" say you already had them and they should just give you a Walmart Gift card for the total price....I've NEVER been asked for my DL# but maybe I've always had my reciept I cannot remember...I AM pretty good about keeping receipts I ALWAYS put big item receipts in an envelope until the return period expires :)
guilliam
I was told their new policy is that you HAVE to have a receipt if it is over $50.
Xfeg
good thing those 3 for the price of two wii games that i got at TRU to exchange are $49.
Ripn
They ask for a DL# so they can track the $$$ amount of returns tied to that DL#. It's a way of preventing theft...people steal items then return them without a receipt to score quick cash.
ldwienke
good thing those 3 for the price of two wii games that i got at TRU to exchange are $49.99 So are you saying that you are going to return the games you bought at TRU to Walmart? If so, thats why the stores change their policy and demand receipts. It's the ones that do that and ruin it for everybody else. I don't blame them for refusing refunds without receipts.. davephillyj
I have always had to have my DL # if I do MOT have a reciept. And that is at any walmart. It's no big deal. If I get to my limit at one WM I go to the next town over ( I am as scatterbrained as they come, I can NOT keep up with reciepts!) If someone else gets my DL number all they will see is a really bad pic and my addy. And they can get your addy from whitepages, netdetective, or a hundred other places. No biggie for me.
