angel-too Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Any one recommend a reconditioned Dyson with manufacturerswarranty? Does this mean it was a lemon and they fixed it? http://www.biglots.com/Specials/WeeklyAd.aspx?sid=1823&style=f
fairydustcrissy Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 More than likely it is one that was sent in under warranty to be repaired. Generally they dont send you back the same one you sent in. So, it gets repaired & sold or sent out to the next person who has a warranty claim.

I assume it is that way with most everything. I haven't ever sent anything in to be fixed under warranty, but I just assumed I got back what I sent...Very interesting, Thanks fairydustcrissy.
Guest Macrossmaster Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Check your Big Lots now. Mine has all these on the shelves at $299. Anyone still have the 20% off coupon?
BoulderChick Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Also check Target they had the pink Dyson's on clearence for $299.00
angel-too Posted November 18, 2007 Author Posted November 18, 2007 So would it be safe to buy a reconditioned one?
fairydustcrissy Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 So would it be safe to buy a reconditioned one?as long as it is factory reconditioned yes. Also, dont these come with a warranty? Worst case you have to send it in, which is a risk with any electronic.

If something goes wrong, I surely dont want to be stuck with a $300vacuum! I'll look at the ad closer and check them out at the store.
zadyju Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Our Target also has the pink Dyson 07 model on clearance for $279.
MelissaS Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 So would it be safe to buy a reconditioned one?I wouldn't do it. We are a smoke free & pet free home. What if the one I bought came from a home that was smoked in or had pets? I am highly allergic to cats and I wouldn't take a chance. I know that you can never fully remove the smell of smoke from plastic because it is so porous. I would rather pay the extra money and get a brand new one that no one had in their home.

I'm very happy with my Bissell LiftOff.

angel-too Posted November 19, 2007 Author Posted November 19, 2007 On Eopinions, not alot of good reviews and bad customer service when something goes wrong.
MelissaS Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Really? I have only heard rave reviews from everyone I know who has a Dyson. We've had our Dyson for a year and we love it as much today as the day we bought it. It works great!!
littlesdcen Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Bought one of mine from there. Still running strong. Performs just as good as the full price one. Still love my Dyson.
kselzer Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 On Eopinions, not alot of good reviews and bad customer service whensomething goes wrong.Yeah there are a lot of bad reviews out there about them breaking (they are all plastic) and bad customer service. i was considering one but after reading all the mixed reviews on Amazon, epinions, here on GottaDeal, and anywhere else i found when Googling I decided it wasn't worth the price tag.
lovinight Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 I jave a Dyson Animal? The purple one, I won't buy another. Ok they say it won't loose suction, but the suction to begin with isn't that great. I can spend 15 minutes in a room with the Dyson and then go over it with my Windtunnel & the dirt sensor light lite all over the room. Honestly I prefer my Windtunnel anyday. The only andantage the Dyson has is in my opinion is it is lightweight.
rlw611 Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Dysons are awesome! Bought the DC07 Animal for $499 two years ago and still works...I have two dogs and this vacuum has been a lifesaver. Dysons are worth every penny.
swilshire Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Our Target also has the pink Dyson 07 model on clearance for $279. Is this the Animal or the All Floors model? I bought a Root this morning. It wasn't even on sale, but with the 20% off at Linens & Things, it was a couple of dollars cheaper than I found it online. Now I just need a new big vacuum. Thanks, Sheila
united Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 I have a cleaning business and went through several brands of vacuum cleaners and these are by far the best I've ever used. The suck on them is amazing. They also don't carry odor from house to house like the other vacuums I've used. If I was at a house with pets, I could still smell pet on the vacuum once I ran it again elsewhere even though I'd cleaned it out. The long extension means I don't have to drag the thing up and down the stairs with me and I can easily get baseboards as I move along the carpet. I generally don't detach everything on the hose and switch it all around, I just stick the brush on the end which makes it a lot quicker and easier. If you buy a reconditioned one they are under a 6 month warranty so register your vacuum with dyson if you buy one. If anything goes wrong they'll send out the part free of charge.
