hpowers
If you had to choose the Core Duo or a AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core, which would you pick? I'm looking at a Inspiron 1501 for about the same price so now I have to make a decision. Also this one has a Truelife screen where the other one I'm looking at has Anti-glare. How much difference? Anyone?
keycrew
Don't know if this helps any but I got the Dell Vostro 1500 just last week with the Intel Celeron M processor and I love it for my basic internet and schooling needs. I've had better success with Intel for faster performance. Also I have the True Life and my hubby has Anti Glare, we both like the True life better, don't ask me why, just easier to see for us anyway. blaza
Not sure how this works....everytime I go through it I'm getting a price at 900+. What options can I get to stay under $600?
hpowers
I stayed pretty much basic with what they already had. I'm also looking through their member discount pages and I'm having a hard time deciding between the two.
blaza
Ok, I clicked straight away on the buy now option and got the $549. Can someone tell me if hte 1.4ghz is decent? Do I need more to run vista w/ Aero? Thanks guys
keycrew
again, just personal opinion but I ordered mine with XP. It works with no glitches or bugs and works better/faster on a smaller system, which is what the Vostro 1500 really is meant to be. My DH has Vista on his Dell , but it was over 2,000.00 and it has the power to run everything.
hpowers
I'm thinking that the XP will be fine. With it I can get double memory and double hard drive so I can't see why I would go with the vista for $30 more.
pscar144
i have a few questions? is this is a solid system? i will basically just be using the inernet and maybe some light gaming, but ive always had problems with laptops and they usually last online like 2 years. what processor speed should i go for? 2Ghz? what video card should i go for? i was thinking 128. any better systems i could get for around the 800-900$ mark? i confiugured one for like 860$ with shipping, 2Ghz, 128 video, 2 GB RAM and whatnot. thanks anyone have free shipping coupons? any other upgrades i should consider? thanks

fx1rider
I bought this computer one week ago for 599.00 i only upgraded the wireless card so it came to 648.00. I noticed it went on sale today for 50.00 bucks cheaper and called Dell and got a credit back to my card for the 50.00 bucks. This computer works great for me. I ordered w/XP, i've only had one week but no complaints so far.

hockeystudd2291
Those of you who already have this laptop, I have a question. Is the screen on this laptop one of those shiny screens that looks really nice or one of the duller, less glassy looking screens? Thanks for your help. mm1
Where is thsi deal for 549??? Nowhere to be found??? Is this another joke of Dell? When you click on the links is $599. When I click on the link is $ 599 and a way smaller HDD, 120 GB NOT 160 GB Years ago when I also wanted to buy online from Dell it showed a price then $50more. That is why I did not buy from them then. Looks like they are doing the same thing. What an absolute joke this is!!!

Mine is already being shipped and I ordered the afternoon that this was posted. I would never buy one of those BF deals from CC or Bestbuy or Walmart. I trust DELL. You get what you pay for with those others.
