Finnegan
I'm looking for a reasonably priced MP3 for two girls age 6 and 8 (who are dying for their older cousin's IPOD. I am Totally Clueless on what to get. I don't want the cheapest model, would like to have decent storage and the song name displayed, but don't want to spend a fortune, either. Any ideas? Thanks! Marcster
I would would wholeheartedly recommend Sansa's Clip. It's a 2GB player (enough space for up to 500 songs), has a built-in rechargeable battery with a 15 hour playback, has a built-in clip (no need to buy a carrying case or worry about dropping it), a built-in FM radio with 40 presets, a voice recorder, and comes in black, red, pink and blue. Reviews:http://reviews.cnet.com/mp3-players/sandisk-sansa-clip-2gb/4505-6490_7-32577903.html?tag=prod.img.4 (with a video review)http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/25/sandisks-sansa-cliphttp://crave.cnet.com/8301-1_105-9765979-1.html Best Buy has the best price going for the 2GB @ $59.99:http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8553816&st=sansa+clip&lp=2&type=product&cp=1&id=1188561248462(that's the pink one -- just put Sansa Clip in the search box for the other colors). Competing MP3 players include the Apple iPod Shuffle (no screen) and the Creative Zen Stone (not as nice of a screen, sound quality is not as nice as the Sandisk). The Sansa Clip is available in 1GB as well, but it's only $20 cheaper and only comes in black (and I'm guessing your girls are all about colors!). Personally, I have a Shuffle, but if it died I'd replace it with a Sansa Clip in red.
Haley28
I bought my daughter the Sansa Shaker, she loves it! Hers is pink, and so far it works great and is perfect for her.

She just shakes it to the next song 'til she finds one she wants to listen to, or you can turn it to the next song with the dial at the bottom. Kit34
We got our Daughter the Disney Mix Max and it even plays video's on it. Right now some Best Buys have it on clearance. It's a great buy for under 100.00 and our Best Buy in Colorado has them on sale for 47.
Finnegan
Thank you all for the great ideas! Now, I'm ready to run out and buy!
chikuni
I second the Disney Mix Max. Both of my girls age 5 and 7 have them and are able to independently use them. You can use the SD cards that you can buy at Best Buy, Target, etc. or you can convert your DVDs to files for free using Windows media encoder that you can put on a sd card. We have done several movies and my girls love them.

ms_mckenna
I am going to agree with the Disney ones. They would be good for that age group. Last year they had some pretty good deals on them along with codes closer to Christmas.
kc#erica
This is the mp3 player I got for my daughter: Coby MP-C7087 1GB Mini MP3 and Video Player, FM Radio, w/ Integrated Speakers. Like it says it has a video mode and it has built in speakers so you don't have to worry about a speaker deck. I got it at JR.com which you can go through ebates and get credit through them, and it was real cheap because I actually called to cancel the order and they told me if I kept the order they'd give me free shipping and I think they took more money off on top of that! It's on sale for $39.99. Here's a link to it http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product=4175239It was smaller than I thought it would be from the picture.I don't know how this compares to the Disney one, I am just now hearing about the disney mp3 player but the coby one had everything I was looking for and it was super cheap.
