  1. Tx, racer. That is not such a great deal, unfortunately as I can get it cheaper online right now. Back to the drawing board!
  2. There are a lot of ipod 4th gen 16gb on sale already for $199 or less... is this one in Walmart's BF add at 10pm 4th or 5th generation... can you tell?
  3. You are wonderful.. I thought I was going to have to forego a barbie house that my daughter so wanted.. but here it is.. you have made a little girl's Christmas even better!
  4. I ordered in October and two watches arrived in less than 3 weeks. I did not have to sign for them at the PO, they just arrived in a manilla envelope. One did not have the stemmed pulled so was ticking. The other stem was pulled but worked when i pushed it in. The are beautiful and I am so far quite happy with them. If you get yours, be sure the stems are pulled out so you don't waste the battery for a month before Christmas!
  5. Mine says you have to have a gold card to present.. did all of you have to present a card?
  6. I will be far from TRU this year.. but saw some neat things.. hoping they will be avail online. I'm with you tho that there are no new toys (or not many) such as the piggies and monster high or the paper jamz... Sure wish I could get the sing a ma jig.. I bought 2 from "santa" already and they are ADORABLE!
  7. Target has it black friday but it's still 19.99 and I've seen it at Walgreens and Kohls for that in the past weeks. I got one today at Kohls with the ten dollar gift card they frequently send in the mail.. came to 12.89 (tax)as it was on sale for 22... I got the dolphin my daughter wanted. The cuddlee's aren't quite as big and I've seen them for $10.
  8. There are some good deals on tvs but we got a big one last year so not in the market... the games are either too young for my childrenk or not really all that discounted for the older set... and the pillow pets.. what a disappointment.. they are $19.99 all over the place now! Overall I can see some good deals but just not on anything I was hoping for (ie DS, pillow pets, Sons of Anarchy). Oh and the DS games that are discounted look like they are mostly aimed at boys and I Carly stinks.. lol... finger's crossed for Walmart and Kmart to wow me...
  9. I'm looking for this also... wondering if we should post in deal finder section... this section isn't much used it seems...
  10. If anyone sees a deal on the Guitar Hero World Tour Band Kit for Wii, could you please post? It is the one with guitar, microphone and drums... I can't remember if it has keyboard but I don't think so. Thank you!
  11. My 7 and 9 year old daughters each have 6 - also a tradition from their Nani (grandmother). My mother loves giving such a nicely packaged, pretty gift each Christmas. The girls love getting the magazines and picking out their yearly choices. But, your question was... do they play with them all? The answer: Not really. They play with them in spurts but Bitty Baby is the way ahead favorite. It is difficult to play with 12 dolls at once. They do love them all, though, and the collection is very nice as a keepsake. Compared to all the other toys they have accumulated over the years, I would have to rank these as the best.
  12. I think maybe sometimes we put our "grown up" expectations on toys rather than just let the kids make up their own minds. I know I often do, anyway. I thought the cupcake maker (which doesn't actually make cupcakes and to me is just a glorified pump for weird icing), was a piece of crap. However, my two girls (7 and 9) thought it was cool and liked, I think, just having their own piece of baking equipment. So, I didn't put it down to them and they still like it. I'm with you, though, on baking cupcakes the old fashioned way and then just letting them use this machine to ice. They refills are ridiculously expensive. By the way... has anyone tried the ice cream sandwich molds? I bought one but have yet to try it. Oh, and we love the spa thing. The girls feel like scientists measuring and doing it all themselves. They've used it at sleepovers and all the little girls are thrilled to take home perfume, lip gloss, etc... occupies them for a long time too!
  13. Sorry, I couldn't stop laughing at the mexican ponchos... it also reminded me of one more... When I was 4, my sisters 6 and 10, my aunt gave us all leather pocketbooks. Just like you would see your grandmother carting around. They were ugly brown and black with big brass buckles on the front. My mother had a hard time keeping a tight smile on her face while simultaneously grimacing a silent "don't you dare say anything mean" to us three flabbergasted girls...
  14. Ok gals and guys... one of the threads on here got me thinking about lousy Christmas gifts I have been given or others in my family have been given. I really need a good giggle so, any contributers welcome: Me - from my beloved husband our first year of marriage - EVERYTHING from Ames (now out of business but for those of you who don't know, it was a lot like Kmart). Slippers, nightgown, housecoat, and jewelry box. All from Ames. What did he think I was... his grandmother??? From my mother in law: one Christmas: A photo album for 3.5 X5 prints. Please keep in mind that she is perfectly aware that I ONLY print 4X6 inch prints. My sister on her 24th Christmas, from the man she loved (and she was hoping for an engagement ring) - A sweater box full of glass figurine animals like birds and things. She actually bawled and left the room. Oh, there was also a cowboy hat and "Wild and Wonderful West Virginia" tee shirt. Please Note: My sister is not in the least 'country'. She is more hip hop. my neice and nephews - THIS CHRISTMAS - tee shirts, a ball cap, and stickers (ps the stickers were wrapped in tissue paper and noted to be "handle with care" for some crazy reason) with the logo "Its a Good Life". We looked it up and it's some sort of charity. I mean, this was on the same level as George Castanza's gift to his coworkers on Seinfeld where he pledged money to a fictitious charity. And, these gifts came from a very well-healed aunt and uncle. Ok, anyone else?
  15. Thanks a lot! I got 5 shirts for $12! Don't gag but two of them are baseball shirts that my brother in law loves... and I bought them for (drumroll)... NEXT Christmas!!!
  16. I still can't find this item. Any idea what to plug in when you get to graveyardmall? Thank you for any help!
  17. OOOHHHH:yuck: That was so frustrating. I added 4 things to my cart, went through the entire check out (gave shipping, billing, credit card) and it sent me all the way back to my shopping cart as one of my items was no longer available. Made me cancel the whole order, as I was getting matching outfits for my girls and didn't want to just get one. Oh well, I will just take it as a sign that we didn't need more clothes, anyway:p
  18. Although I think the museum ideas are AWESOME (especially as a Mom), I don't know that a three year old would be overly excited to see tickets, only, on Christmas morning. If you go with this idea (I wish someone would do it for my kids!) It would be a good idea to get a stuffed animal or something to go with it... ie get her a big stuffed lion if you are getting a zoo membership or a baby furreal friends moving animal (these can be had for about $10 right now). On the other hand, if you don't live near and can't do the museum/zoo idea with her, just remember that kids aren't counting the cash at that age and most little girls love dollys and stuffed pets, etc... Lastly, and then I'll be quiet... My mother has purchased an American Girl doll each Christmas for my daughters since they were toddlers. Each year, the girls pick out which doll they long for and Nani buys it for them. These dolls are beautiful and come in such nice boxes. They cost about $105. There are also TONS of accessories you can buy (not cheap). For a three year old, I would start with Bitty Baby who has a nice starter kit. Good Luck!
  19. I'm actually going to go to our 2 big pet stores today to see about the pet toy santa's you posted (would save shipping!)
  20. Thank you all for the great ideas... I knew you would come through for "santa"!
  21. Hi guys. Well, I took my daughters to see Santa and they both came back to me with big smiles. I asked what they had requested from Santa. My first daughter, "I asked him for one of the reindeer bells". Easy. My second daughter, "I asked him for a small santa that says 'Ho Ho Ho'. I replied, "Have you seen a santa that says 'Ho Ho Ho' somewhere? Her reply, "No, but Mommy, you should know that the elves can make anything!" So... anyone out there know where I can find a stuffed santa that says "Ho Ho Ho?"
  22. I adopted my two cats 18 wonderful years ago - one from the "Pennysaver" newspaper and one from Animal Friends, a no kill shelter (he was estimated to be one year at that time). They are both indoor/outdoor cats (in when they want and out when they want). Last August I got a kitty for my mother that I found on Craigslist. My mom wanted an all white kitten all of her life and none of our shelters had one. I'm not sure exactly where I stand on the "only indoor" cat thing. I guess it just depends on where you live and be sure they are always up on their immunizations & spay/neuter.
  23. My sister is photo happy... she would just love to get a picture of me straddling a bike tire:blush: Thanks for the advice... and the giggle:D
