lovetoshopCA Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 I was told tonight by my Target Pharmacist that they will no longer accept competitor coupons for new or transferred prescriptions after November 4th! Bummer! I guess they'll be losing the bulk of my business. Ralphs (Kroger) still does, so it looks like that will be my new primary destination for prescriptions.
davephillyj Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 I figured it was only a matter of time....
AndreaInNC Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 Well since the competitors don't offer $4.00 prescriptions, I don't blame them. I never saw how they made money when they did that. The past Target script coupons I've seen were for a $10.00 gift card.
mahalia52 Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 I was told they would stop @ the end of october(ga)

I take a prescription daily that is not a part of that program. So, I'll go elsewhere.

I'd be willing to bet that a mojority of GCs issued are for $4 scripts. Which means they LOSE $6 for every one filled. And thats on a Target offer. If its another store that offers say $25, well then they are really losing money.
klastar Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 I knew this was coming. There was a woman in front of me the other day using 4 $25.00 CVS coupons at Target. She made the comment that 2 of her prescriptions were less than $2.00. Her total bill came to $14.00 and change and she got $100.00 worth of GC's. Great deal but I knew they would be ending this soon because of things like this. I take 4 medicines on a daily bases that aren't cheap even with insurance for a bone disease.
