dmmiller Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Did it say anything about Dry Erase markers? I know the teachers request these.. so I"m looking for a bargain to stock up.
trbarginhunter Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 I picked up some Dry Erase makers at Micheal's craft store recently, they were the mini-size ones, but they were only a dollar for two.
jnorris28 Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 check the dollar tree. i have bought them there before (generic brand) 3 markers in a pack for 1.00.:)
Shortness Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Thanks! I sure wish our schools would hand out the supply list at the end of the year. They always wait til registration, and by then, it's end of August... I have winged it so far with some great deals though--and they'll probably get used one way or another.

Drives me nuts!We usually get ours in the mail a week before school starts. I dont know why they cant get them out while the sales are still going onsince they want us to supply the classroom with stuff too. I dont mind, but I'd like to save money while I"m doing it. :)
madi5 Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Our school has the childs new teacher and school supply list in the childs final report card. Makes it so much easier on the parents
jenilyn Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Thanks! I sure wish our schools would hand out the supply list at the end of the year. I have winged it so far with some great deals though--and they'll probably get used one way or another. Our schools have supply lists you can access on the net. We usually dont get everything, some teachers switch it up a bit or we need more than x# of what was listed. Just thought you might try looking there, even if its last yrs supply list you could get a good idea of what each child will basically need. jen
meo Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Thanks for this -- I just got our list and am trying to decide if paying the PTA is worth it (they have a thing here where you can pay $35 to the PTA and they'll do the shopping for you and have the bag with stuff in your kids desk on the first day of school)
davephillyj Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 I think it's worth it. It's 40 or 45 here, but if your child uses it all up, they go and buy more rather than sending you a note home to get more! But, I buy plenty to help out the teachers. And YES Dollar Tree for dry erase markers is the best.
pinkroses4mommy Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Everytime I've bought dry erase markers at the dollar tree, they've been dried out, so you might want to check them out before you send them to school.
dmmiller Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 I got Dry erase markers at target (they were on clearance), and DS told me the teacher got them out to use them.. but they were all dried up. I was so embarrassed!
