Target ordering--items not available yet

My dd wants a couple pairs of jeans for school, however, when I get almost to checkout, it says that these items will be in between 2-6 weeks. Has anybody gone ahead and bought like this--and received items within the time they said? 6 weeks is right about when school starts, so I really hate to pay for these items, and for some reason run into a delay or them not coming in at all. Can I count on Target to get these items in when they say they will?

 

I'd really appreciate any input, as I don't want to waste money on items that won't get to me in time, or at all...

You won't be charged until the item ships. I did order a pair of shoes last year in november for christmas and they said 4-6 weeks and it came in 3 weeks.

They must be thinking they'll come in. I have my eye on a few things at Target.com and they show "available soon" and they won't let you order them.
