Scott
No 1080pTrue. But still a good deal for someone with a 720p/1080i set.
citrixgirl
No 1080pVery few have a 1080p tv, and quite frankly, most people couldn't tell the difference. Posting "no 1080p" is a knee jerk post

DaveSimmons
All but a couple of specific models of TVs only had 1080i inputs until mid-2006 when models like the Samsung HLS- series started shipping. Even then at least half of the TVs sold were still 720p models. I happen to have a 1080p Samsung HLS with 1080p inputs but I'm still thinking of getting this since Netflix carries every US HD-DVD and blu-ray release. If I buy it I can at least watch the HD-DVD exclusives in 1080i instead of 480i, when I can't get blu-ray version for my PS3.

You've obviously never seen 1080p. 2. 1080p set prices are coming down rapidly, and most new models are 1080p.
Scott
1. You've obviously never seen 1080p. 2. 1080p set prices are coming down rapidly, and most new models are 1080p.While I agree and personally have a 1080p set, there are still a LOT of people out there that have 720p or 1080i sets that would rather spend $240 on a player than thousands on a new set.
