Is this a Usb or firewire drive? it is listed as atapi connection but it is a external drive. anyone know?

My guess would be that it is USB 2.0

 

There aren't many Firewire and eSATA burners on the market. It is just a guess though.

I have a Samsung internal 18x DVD writer w/Lightscribe and so far it's been a good drive. It's only 5 months old, though, so I can't speak to the longevity of the drive. I also have a Samsung DVD writer in my laptop and it's been going for about 1.5 years. Anyway, my experience with them has been good so far.
