Still cannot find a Wii!

Does anyone here have any ideas on where to get a Wii? I have been looking

since before Christmas and still no luck. Granted I have not been willing to wait

in line at 3:00 am for one but I would think by know supply would be better.

It would be an awesome Easter gift for my family:2elephant

 

Any suggestions/ideas/thoughts welcome.

I got mine out of sheer luck. Middle of the day @ Target, I just stopped & asked. The sales associate told me that they give vouchers @ 7 am Sunday mornings when the Wii is advertised in the weekly ad. Best thing to do is check the Sunday ads on Saturday.

Maybe try and call Gamestop or somewhere that gets the Wii's in.. and ask them when they're next shipment is coming in. Most places can tell you which day of the week they get them on. I was lucky enough to call Gamestop/EB games one morning, and they just got them off the truck.

Just call around is all I can recommend. :)

I saw 1 for the first time the other day at our Walmart! They had 1. It's the only one I've ever seen.

I saw them about 2 weeks ago at two local sams clubs. They weren't flying out of there either, maybe becuase not as many people think to check there. Might want to try there if you have one.

The Circuit City ad says they will have some Wii's today and that vouchers will be handed out 1 hour prior to opening. Good luck!

I saw that too. Too bad that by the time you read the Sunday paper the store has already been open a couple hours.

I asked in Walmart a few weeks ago because I was curious. The mgr told me that they fly in someday in the middle of the week and fly off the shelves just as quickly. I expressed surprise that they still weren't reliably on the shelf and he said probably by May for sure they would be. Huh, is all that came to mind...they really are dragging this shortage out aren't they?

All of the Target stores around me receive the Wiis on a delivery truck in the middle of the day. They usually come via UPS or Fed Ex or one of them.

Good luck, I have been trying to get one also & was thinking the same thing last weekend, by the time you read about them in the Sunday paper they are all gone. When I asked at ToysRUs last week they said that they only got 15 in last Sunday and if you weren't out there at 6 am you didn't get one - how did they know to be out there at 6am? I asked at Gamestop and they told me that if you are not in the store when they come in you will not get one & that people know what time FedEx comes and follow them in the store to see if they have brought any.

it's all people selling them on ebay, or should I say scalping them on ebay

I used itrkr its a website you pay 1.99 for them to text message you and they let you know when one around you comes in stock. The day I got mine they text me at 5am to say circuit city by my house would have one in stock when they opened and I got there the minute they opened at 10 and I got the last one! They only had 3!

We got ours at target on valentines day. It was the middle of a snow storm. HAvent seen one since.

 

Toys R Us usually get the largest shipments in around here. Everyone else gets about 3 units in at a time. Toys R Us usually receives 15-20 units at a time. I would call there as often as you can to see if they got any in.

 

I live in the western portion of Connecticut.

Or you may be able to make him an offer. If we didn't already luck into one at a walmart close to us we would have went with this one ourselves but we certainly don't need two of them or I would never get to watch TV.... lol....

the super walmart near me had about 5 yesterday and a ton of remotes. i think availability depends also on where you live, we are rural so not as popular.

We got one at Toys R Us before Christmas. My daughter then decided they wanted one for their home, and we were able to get another one at Toys R Us a couple weeks ago. We arrived there about 15 minutes after they opened. They seen to get the most in. Quite often, the Toys R Us ad is posted in advance in the forum. If you watch this, and get to the store when they open Sunday morning, you have a good chance to find one.

 

Also check Sears, they also get them in and people often forget to check there.

They are advertised in the 4/1-4/8 Walmart ad. I just called my local Walmart the sales associate told me that they have them in the store, but can't sell them until 12 am Sunday morning. I would suggest calling your Walmart to see when they go on sale. Hope that helps.

I was told by the store manager at our Toys R Us they would have several Sunday morning and that they go fast. I guess I will be going to the early service at church in the morning and taking my chances after Sunday school. They open here at 11 on Sundays and he told me there are generally several customers waiting outside. Wish me luck!

Got mine today.. Yipee! Went to WM early cuz of the ad. Got there was second in line. They were actually sold out before the store opened. They only had 8 total in. The guy in charge of them ran it extremely well. So there was no fighting. Good luck to others that are still trying.

Congrats! Hope others had better luck than us. After I talked to 2 stores yesterday & they told me "that they have them in the store, but can't sell them until 12 am Sunday morning" my sister & BIL set out to 2 stores. One store told her that the manager made the executive decision not to sale them until 8am -- BIL was at the other store @ 11:30 and they had already given out all their tickets. The store that BIL was at told him that the store my sister was at had 23 & couldn't understand why they weren't selling them.

That's pretty crazy. I do know that when my daughter went to a 24 hour WM thinking they would sell them at 12 am.. they said nope.. not till 7 am..Not sure who's idea that was but she came home and I almost didn't get up! Yikes! Barely crawled outta bed and went there thinking there was going to be a ton of ppl there but there wasn't. So that was lucky on that part. Me and my son can't stop bowling. I used to bowl a lot and it's almost like it except for the heavy bowling ball that I don't have to lift. Hope you find one soon! I wish you best of luck!

Got mine today! My son is so happy! He has been saving his Christmas money all this time and trust me thats not easy for a 7 year old. I did learn something today from the manager at TRU. She told me if the Wii is advertised in the ad for the week they hold them until Sunday when the ad starts. I got out of Sunday school a little later than usual and got there at 5 til 11 and there were 4 people already at the door. Not sure exactly how many they had but when I got my ticket the guy handing them out still had a few in his hand. Hope this info helps someone else out. Good luck!
