Need a coffee pot

Recommended Posts

Anything that's cheap will be on par with the Gevalia coffee makers, so I would 2nd that route. The current offer is the stainless steel pot and coffee scoop for free. Just place the order with the coffee and cancel after you receive everything. I've done it a few times and their coffee makers look nice and make coffee just as well as your typical Mr Coffee, Black & Decker, Cuisinart, etc.... Here's the offer page: http://www.gevalia.com/Gevalia/continuity/enroll/join_kaffe.aspx

If you want to get one that will last you forever and make excellent coffee, pick up a Bunn home coffee maker. You can also use it for instant hot water for cooking and beverages, because it uses a resevoir system. I think it's the only maker in the $100 range that's actually worth the money. The next best thing is a $15-$20 french press.

I second marcster. I have that Mr coffee pot and it's terrible. I am on my third one. First one broke within two months exchanged it, then they leaked from the bottom. I emailed mr coffee and they sent me replacements but it's definately not the quality i expected from that brand nor for the $50 price tag. Get a cheap one without the extra bells and whistles, they seem to last the longest.

This is my current coffee maker:

Delonghi 12-Cup Drip Coffee Maker

It's starting to leak out of the bottom, but it was only $30 and I've had it for two years and I brew coffee twice a day just about every day.

The coffee tastes much better with the Aroma Button set to "on" ("Aroma Button actives a unique brewing process that enhances the flavor and aroma of your coffee").

I'll be replacing it with the same coffeemaker.

Stay away from this one, I had one that lasted 3 months. I was very disappointed.

I have had two of these, both broke right away, but the company replaced them. My mother had two go bad, had them replaced. My father fixed one after the fact so now they have a spare. My granny has one and has had no problems with it. Not very consistent and not what you would expect!

Thanks everyone for responding...I am ordering tonight!!

Absolutely Agree - about the Bunn & the French Press!! :yup:

The Bunn brews a full pot in 3 minutes.

We drink 3-4 pots a day. The first one we had worked like a horse for 6 years - and probably would last someone who drinks less coffee a very long time!!

In my area, they run about $110.00 on sale..... though I did find this gem...

I ordered from this site and had no complaints.

:gd_dollar 76.99 + ~10.00 to ship.

*Searching from the homepage by a keyword or item number, it returns nothing related to these coffee brewers.

From the Our Products List click on 'Appliances & Electronics', then 'Coffee Makers & Tea Brewers' then 'Drip Coffeemakers 10 cup', .... the Bunns don't display a picture.

I used the Bunn website to compare the models.
