  10. Kayakmom I wondered about the 'inking/dye' and you answered that too! I am not a photo enthusiast, so I may take advantage of the sale at Staples but plan to get my prints from a kiosk.... that info helped me a lot. Kara
  11. Photo Paper for InkJet - Any opinions on brands / where to buy? Is it less expensive to just print from a photo kiosk set up in a store and pay per print?
  12. Bunn Bunn Bunn Bunn Bunn Bunn Bunn Bunn Bunn Bunn Bunn Bunn Bunn Absolutely Agree - about the Bunn & the French Press!! The Bunn brews a full pot in 3 minutes. We drink 3-4 pots a day. The first one we had worked like a horse for 6 years - and probably would last someone who drinks less coffee a very long time!! In my area, they run about $110.00 on sale..... though I did find this gem... I ordered from this site and had no complaints. 76.99 + ~10.00 to ship. http://www.drillspot.com/products/307697/Bunn-O-Matic_BX-B_10CBLK-SS-Coffee-Brewer *Searching from the homepage by a keyword or item number, it returns nothing related to these coffee brewers. From the Our Products List click on 'Appliances & Electronics', then 'Coffee Makers & Tea Brewers' then 'Drip Coffeemakers 10 cup', .... the Bunns don't display a picture. I used the Bunn website to compare the models.
  13. the bane of eyeglasses.... i understand. our last round was from Sams Club. i do remember delays in actually getting the frames - I'm not sure how they manage stock on hand.
  14. a year ago, FUJI 19" were about $350.00 and we shopped really hard for them. Purchased from www.newegg.com
  15. you are quite welcome! Comparing washer/dryers was very aggravating to me.... like vacuum cleaners I just wanted something reliable to get the job done well the first time! That little list took a lot of digging to put it together as I recall so I am thrilled it can serve beyond my own need.
  16. I hope you enjoy Nashville.... I traveled there two years ago. Be sure to visit the 'BlueBird Cafe' http://www.bluebirdcafe.com/
  17. We purchased last year- check consumer reports.... Decided to purchase Kenmore from Sears. Cost was ~$800.00 for both washer and dryer plus $100 for delivery and taxes. Washer (Sears item #02626862000 / Mfr. model #26862) Kenmore 3.2 cu. ft. Super Capacity Plus Top Load Washer Dryer (Sears item #02676642000 / Mfr. model #76642) Kenmore 6.5 cu. ft. Super Capacity Gas Dryer So you may benefit from my research (I don't have the sources) - Here is some of the info I collected and used to make the best decision for us: 20 lbs of laundry = large load 15 lbs of laundry = medium 10 lbs of laundry = small 5 lbs of laundry = xtra small The average wash load in current agitator washers and high-efficiency washers is about the same — approximately 12 pounds. 12 pound capacity = A full set of king sized sheets, ~4-5 large bath towels or even ~4 pair of jeans Super capacity tubs will hold 3 to 3 1/2 cubic feet or 22 to 24 pounds of laundry An average spin speed is 1000-1200 RPM and is usually more than sufficient. Front loaders are more efficient but require special detergent The best front-loader on the market is the Kenmore HE 3t and its near clone, the Whirlpool Duet (both made by Whirlpool). Experts are impressed with the water efficiency and capacity of these models. They use half the water of conventional washers. A general rule is to have about twice as much capacity in the dryer than in the washer. If you buy a 3.3 or 3.5 cu. ft. washer, you will need a 7 cu. ft. dryer. Dryers costing below $350 don’t perform quite as well Two reviewers list GE Profile models among their top picks, citing superior drying ability and numerous extra cycles. Reviewers say nearly all mid-priced Kenmore models do a good job with the basics. goodluck!
  18. I have a co-worker with kids that uses a rock tumbler. So - its a craft activity and has the same effect for white noise as a fan. If you live where there is: AC Moore (Sunday circular, or On-line newsletter subscription) Michaels (Sunday circular) Hobby Lobby (On-line newsletter subscription) use the 40% of one regular priced item coupon for a great deal!
  19. The trick with this one is that is will receive and convert HDTV signals. I am not that picky about picture quality - so, I can use this for the next several years while HDTV makes its way into the market. It will take some bargain hunting to get the HDTV in the budget you have.... good luck! I hope you find a sweet deal!
  20. I just purchased a 27" Toshiba a week ago that I am very happy with. It was recommended on consumer reports. MSRP on Toshiba's site is $350. Sears item #05747486000 Mfr. model #27DF46 Sears and BB were competitive for pricing when I shopped a few weeks ago. DESCRIPTION: Want to replace your current tube ( CRT) TV with a similar set but be ready for the digital television future? The Toshiba FST PURE® flat screen SDTV receives all digital television signals, using an internal ATSC digital tuner, and then converts those signals to standard definition ( 480i) (antenna may be required).
  21. ok - so here is my question that I can't figure out.... How do I customize the little slogan under my username? mine says 'Member', but I see lots with little sayings....?
  22. My DH is a 'computer geek'.. We've been through several printers. The Lexmark all in one was a real pain for us - the user interface is awkward and the print jobs are disruptive if you multi-task. Our lexmark is collecting dust in the basement and we re-installed our old 820 HP model. When it is replaced, it will be with an HP. There is a really nice model we looked at last weekend that is wireless... I haven't committed time to price comparisons, but Staples has it on sale now for $398. HP C7180 Photosmart Color Flatbed All-in-One Ultimate photo all-in-one with fax, superior scanning and advanced wireless.
  23. When I shopped last year, I found the best prices at Sports Authority. I wasn't shopping for that self - inflates though. It has an electric air pump with it.
  24. If I had a family that size, I would consider buying one of the Entertainment Books offered for Tampa ... It costs $20.00 but can probably pass that easily in savings if you think you will be dining out... guess it might depend on how long you are traveling as well... just a thought to offer! http://tampa.entertainment.com/discount/local.shtml?location=tampa%20fl
