Occasionally they have sales, too. Can't beat free shipping and tax!http://www.factorydirectsuperstore.com/Dyson/default.htm Enjoy!
RossMAN Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 Just curious, what's so great about the new Dyson DC14 models? Thanks for posting this :)
Keebelf Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 Nevermind....too expensive to start drooling over one right now.
slcahill Posted December 21, 2004 Author Posted December 21, 2004 Without getting technical, the advantages are better attachments (a major redesign of the mini turbine head - perfect for cleaning cat hair!), and more suction power. We have the DC14 Animal. We love it!
alm99 Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 We also have the DC14 and it was the best money ever spent since we have a 1 year old daughter.
shopperstef Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 My Mum's been drooling over the Dysons for years...
sumertime Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 I got the green/purple (the animal with an extra year warranty) shipped from ebay (NIB) for $430.00 I LOVE IT!!! There is a seller (can't remember his name) that sells a ton of them. He had excellent ratings and we couldn't beat the price anywhere.
RossMAN Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 My Mum's been drooling over the Dysons for years...I will own one eventually, will probably buy it from CostCo. Great price + best return policy :)
Brad Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 Amazon also has the new DC14 models available: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002UDC62 Free shipping, no tax for most and use coupon code KHBBDECEMBER to save $25 more.
nineofus Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 I've had my eye on a Dyson for a while now. We've asked for cash as gifts from parents to go toward one. Happened to be in Sear's last night and they had 4 models side by side (including 2 of the DC14 models). The attachments for the DC14 seem to be SO MUCH more conveniently located and easier to use. Right now we're (actually "I'm" - haven't quite convinced hubby to spend this much on a vac) leaning toward the DC14 Animal model. Anyone out there have any experience and/or input?
RossMAN Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 Sears sometimes has 10% off coupons and they usually price match against competitors if that helps.

RossMAN Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 Good to know... Thanks! Where can I get ahold of one of these coupons? The last Sears 10% off was December 4th, they are offered every 6-8 weeks. Next time it becomes available we will post it on GottaDeal.com. It's also a good idea to subscribe to our Daily Deal Update
sumertime Posted December 24, 2004 Posted December 24, 2004 I totally forgot this. When I bought ours, it came with a book where you could buy the extra attachments (like the animal powered rotating brush). I think it would be cheaper to buy a basic model and then buy the attachments seperately. If I remember correctly, the rotating attachment is $30.00, which is a lot cheaper than the difference between the basic and the animal.
motoXmom Posted December 27, 2004 Posted December 27, 2004 Holy cow $549 Actually that is more than half the price LESS a friend of mine paid for a Kirby from a local girl selling them. She is still paying it off and that was a year and a half ago! I think she hit closer to $1200 for hers. I tried to tell her she was nuts but she wouldn't listen at the time, now she wishes she would have listened! LOL

The Dysons are awesome and are probably worth $549 but it's still a lot of money.
