preacherswife2 Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Anyone know of any good deals on a futon or something like them for a college kids room? Any help would be great, the best price I can find is 180.00 plus shipping. A B&M store would be good if we had one around us. Thanks for any help you can give.
Brad Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 You might be able to find something at Overstock.com: http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2.cgi?SEC_IID=20753&PAGE=ENDECA&SearchType=HP_Header&N=0&keywords=futon Read the reviews, and be sure to use a coupon from here: http://www.gottadeal.com/Coupons
dschmidt Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Kmart carries them too, for a good price but the matress might not be that great if he is going to be sleeping on it.
littlesdcen Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Walmart has them in the store here(in NC) for 99.00
conj Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 are we looking for mainly sitting (couch) or sleeping? Just a mattress- or frame too? Futons are one of those things around campus that get passed along, and with patience can be gotten for free. If it is not for sleeping on - walmart or kmart - or the like - tend to have them for under or about $100. They are not particularly comfortable, tho.
boblin119 Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 if you lived near champaign, illinois, k's merchandise is going out of business and they had several last week. All of their stuff is over 60% off. So they were really cheap.
Deal Grabber Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 If hes going to be sleeping on it DONT get the black one ya always see with the metal frame. Its HORRIBLE.Like sleeping on a sleeping bag.Wears out FAST and goes flat.Invest a little more money and get a wooded one with a box style mattress.I have had both and like i said black is HORRIBLE i have now have the wooden one for about 7 years and its still like brand new.Gets slept on everynight.BTW got it at sleppys.
preacherswife2 Posted January 6, 2007 Author Posted January 6, 2007 Thanks everyone!! I knew if anyone would know where to find one, it would be you guys!! Thanks again for all your help. I think we will go with the wood frame one from Ikea, 159.99 shippped and looks really nice. He will use it for sitting most of the time, but will also be used for sleeping. He has two years to go so I hate the idea of it wearing out before he leaves school. Thanks again!!!

It will help the cover slide on and off.
