Lacey Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 When my husband was growing up his parents used to put oranges, apples, different kinds of nuts, and Brach's little candies. At my house my parents gave me different personal items like toothpaste, toothbrushes, girl hair bows and clips, stationary, and costume jewelry. Now we kinda blend both of our childhoods together by giving our kids a little of both worlds. How do you do it? :holiday08 :holiday08
decafmom Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Lottery tickets! It's fun each year to watch them all scratch them off in hopes of winning a few dollars. Gift cards also get put in the stocking, so they always look forward to them. :) This year the youngest's stocking is getting a Pokemon fitted sheet and pillowcase that someone sent me for FREE!!
Jennifer0530 Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 We always put bath paints or water color tabs in each of their stockings along with some other small stuff and a bunch of candy!
magickallight Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 I always do lottery tickets (Got lucky this year and won $100 worth of $1.00 scratch tickets from a local radio station... so no big chunk of money out of my pocket this year on those.) DH is having a Greek food themed stocking this year - he loves to cook and loves Greek Food, so that is this year's theme for him. DD's get CD's and panties and fun stuff and DS's stocking is totally up to Santa. I LOVE stuffing stocking and seeing what all I can jam in them - but always try to make it fun.

Great Dane Mom Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 We have tons of stuff in our stockins, but the one thing I cannot forget is PICKLES!!!! Sunshyne Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Candy and race cars or little trains usually. Whatever I have that is small enough to fit. I bought ds1 some new sippy cups this year for his. Both of the boys are getting a ton of the Disney Pixar cars split between theirs too.
misshayley Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Those must be huge stockings! A gallon of pickles??? Wow!That's what I was thinking
amyers12345 Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 We set the pickles under the stocking. Although, they would fit in the stockings we got this year, if there was any room left. I don't want to rip them off of the wall. The pickles are the only thing that I make sure to repeat every year. this year, ours have: chapstick makeup (DD) assorted toys from Amazon's sale wooden musical instruments books crayons pads of paper finger paints pencils pens coloring books cars beads craft kits video games Little Tikes animal flashlights toothbrushes ornaments lottery tix and don't even ask me what else, I've been stuffing junk in them for weeks!!!
Lacey Posted December 22, 2006 Author Posted December 22, 2006 I have never thought about putting lottery tickets in a stocking but that seems to be a favorite with so many of you. I think I will try that this year! It sounds like fun!!
DramaQueenLucy Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Candy, whoopee cushions, bubbles, cap guns, GC to Game store... I really think that I will regret the whoopee cushions
laffnatu Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Candy in my son's stocking. I bought some stuff for my daughter's car to put in her stocking. A key chain that says, Never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly A lei air freshner (she's been wanting 1 forever) Some cool little tire stem things that monitor how much air is in her tires. It turns red to let her know she needs air. She never pays attention to her tires. lol. If these things work, I'm going to put them on all the cars. LOL. A friend got her some visor cd holders for the car. I'm going to pick up a few more items that will match the holders. Orbit gum Candy Probably some chapstick I may add a few lottery tickets to both... they would love that.
Guest koby Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Laffnatu, Where did you get the "tire stem thing"? thanx
laffnatu Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Laffnatu,Where did you get the "tire stem thing"? thanx It was near the air freshners and car accessories at Walmart. It didn't have a specific place on the shelf, it was hanging off the end of the aisle. I believe it was $4.97.

DH and I were in Walmart the other night and he had to go get some of those for his truck. When they put on his new tires they did not take the old ones off. Anyway he said they do work really well Thought that you might be interested in knowing that they do work
elena_398 Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 I cut down on candy this year. Didn't want them to have all that chocolate. With my son in wrestling he can't have it anyway. I filled the stockings with a lot of small gifts. Tic Tacs, sugar free gum, and sugar free candy (some chocolate but not a lot). My son got his Tag and Axe sprays, wrist bands, book light, necklace or chain I guess for a man, and a stop watch. My daughter got perfume, earrings, necklace/bracelet set, body tatoos and stickers, and nail file and lotion
sevirj Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 My wife likes to put stuff like lip gloss, socks, candy, hair clips and any other small items in DD's stocking. Her stocking is always one of the 1st things she looks for.

sullyd Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 I like to give my daughter a gift certificate for a massage.
