Kara1204
OK, call me an idiot, but what the heck does it mean when someone simply posts "bump" in a thread????
alimfp
When someone "bumps" a post, they are posting arbitrarily to bring it to the top of the forum.

Florida Girl
OK, call me an idiot, but what the heck does it mean when someone simply posts "bump" in a thread???? I wanted to ask that question but being a newby I didn't want to get fussed at to go read some other post info; like the acronyms page that are used. Its too many to remember. Thanks for asking the question; but it still doesn't make since to me. Why do you want to bump your post to the top?
cotejb
if you don't get a reply to a thread it keeps going down the thing until its pages behind...if you bump it it keeps it closer to the top so you can find it without having to search....does that help? Gurnee Al
Thanks for asking the question; but it still doesn't make since to me. Why do you want to bump your post to the top?By bumping, you're not bringing your post up to the top -- you're bringing the entire thread up to the top of the forum that it's sitting in. Scott
All good information. But remember, excessive "bumping" may be frowned upon by some moderators... ... use it wisely.
