a friend of mine works for a local target and she said her manager told them that target corporate was discussing target possibly starting doing layways since walmart gave it up and this will give them the advantage to get more of walmarts customers. Don't know if it will go thru...but thats what their talking about at our local target. that would be great if they did!

It would be neat if they did it....but it would be a HUGE cost thing for them....since none of the current stores are set up for it, they would have to totally construct not only an 'in-take area' but also a storage area, and since WM said they got rid of it cause they always lost money on it...I dunno....I'd love to see them reinvent the wheel and do something like this, but I thought Target's whole 'thing' was that they were a cut ABOVE Walmart...

"would you like to open a Target credit account?" has been their standard answer for so long when ever asked about LAW...I dunno if they could handle it! lol

We heard this rumor here too, I called the 2 targets that are about an hour from me. They said that it's a rumor and Target has no intentions of starting a layaway program at any of their stores.

But who knows!

I haven't used lay-a-way in over 5 years. (Last one was stuff I put on for my oldest son before he was born. He was born 3 weeks early, so it was great that dh could just go get the stuff and it was all there.) But...if Target had LAW, I might be tempted to use it!

let's see...if target had a layaway...say it was only 30 days...i would put al the christmas stuff i could find and place it in layway..and then by mid jan i can get it all for 90% off...

yea i dont think this will work at target...not with their clearance sales they have...

About two weeks ago when I went to Target I used my debit card for a purchase and the cashier told me I had been pre-approved for a Target credit card. I was stunned and she act like she was also.

I know this is not the thread for that and I don't know how to start one yet, but does anyone have anyone feed back on that? You can send me a private message, start the thread or let me know how to start one.
