Shonette Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 We are going to Hawaii in April and I would like to get a decent digital for my son. Any suggestions? My only requirements are that it doesn't eat batteries like candy and that it accepts an SD card. Thanks for your help- I am going bonkers. I would like to stay under $100.00 if possible.
KiriJoan Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4722201 It's less than $60! My friend bought it a few weeks ago and loves it. She says it's perfect for every day use.

Shonette Posted December 5, 2006 Author Posted December 5, 2006 I will check out the Vivitar at Wal-Mart. Thanks Rossman! I actually took back the Phillips, it has to be charged via the USB and that will be useless on vacation, but thanks for the suggestion! I have been stressing over this one! I wonder if I should wait for the proposed BF 2?? Then again, I am ready to be done.
VTmommy Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Buy.com has this one that is $56.98 shipped after google checkout and $10 rebate. I think this is the one for DD (7). We got her a cheap one at TRU last Xmas and it was a total bomb. This year she asked for "a camera that doesn't speak Japanese"! LOL Here's the link:http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=202738504 Argus DC5340 5.0 Megapixel Digital Camera w/ 3x Optical Zoom - DC-5340 Features: 2.0 LTPS LCD Display 3X Optical Zoom 4X Digital Zoom 16MB NAND Flash Internal Memory PictBridge compatible SD Storage Card Slot Auto Flash with Red-Eye Reduction USB Download Photo editing software
Shonette Posted December 6, 2006 Author Posted December 6, 2006 I bought my 6 year old an Argus. It was less than $30.00. Does anyone know about this brand? I don't want to spend a lot, but I don't want to buy another one before next Christmas either. How does it compare to the Vivitar, anyone?
