theboyzmom Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 We went to Wendy's today cause I was told they are giving away CD-ROMS with each kids meal (they are), and one of them is the I Spy game, the whole reason we went. Of course ours was out of them (for those interested, they also have Clifford, a Dora-like girl, and Goosebumps). HOWEVER, on the bag the meal comes in, there is an offer to buy TWO I Spy games on CD-ROM for $9.99....these are minimum $20 EACH in the stores...so it's a good deal! The offer is good through March 31, 2007...but if you want it for the holiday, I'd order early good luck!
allen6192 Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 UGH! They closed all the Wendy's in my area. The owner went bankrupt.
theboyzmom Posted November 27, 2006 Author Posted November 27, 2006 Update...even better!!!!! I called the number to make sure whether I had to send the whole bag in or just the certificate (we all know how tricky they can make these offers sometimes...) I got to order it over the phone and had the option of paying by check when it comes or with a credit card right then!!!! So here is the number and offer code: 1-866-383-8418 US code: 829643R8H-2 Can code: 723043R90-8 this is general customer service for Scholastic (who is doing the offer), make sure you tell them you would like to order the I Spy CD-ROMs from the Wendy's deal I'm happy...
theboyzmom Posted November 27, 2006 Author Posted November 27, 2006 no online order available...it's generally a mail in offer, but I called the 'question' line and found out I could do it over the phone PS the $9.99 INCLUDES shipping!!
dpape Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 a Dora-like girlMaya and Miguel -- very cute PBS series
First Lady Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Do they say which two games you can get?? We already have a couple I-Spy computer ones, don't want duplicates.
theboyzmom Posted November 27, 2006 Author Posted November 27, 2006 it's the Fantasy and Treasure Hunt cd's
theboyzmom Posted November 27, 2006 Author Posted November 27, 2006 It's 9.99 for BOTH (TWO games for $9.99) and no extra for shipping! A very good deal since ONE of these games is $20 by itself!
decafmom Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 I just went to Wendy's today and requested the I Spy cd. I didn't even notice the bag - I ate the meal myself just to get the cd for Boo. Earlier in the day I had been at TRU and bought an I Spy cd. It is definitely going back now - thanks for sharing!!
decafmom Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 I just tried to call and order and they said NO! I told her I knew someone who had ordered earlier over the phone and she said the order will most likely not go through. How frustrating! She said it's mail-in only. Please let me know if anybody else has luck over the phone.
theboyzmom Posted November 27, 2006 Author Posted November 27, 2006 My sil just called me and said it took her HOURS to get through and got the confirmation (I got a conf # too, so hopefully) maybe we flooded them with requests...sorry....I suggest maybe calling later this week...we all know that a lot of times it depends on who you call and when good luck (and those of you with a Wendy's, get a kids meal and send in the bag!)
jarerice Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Very cool. thanks for the heads up. I just went to Wendy's, they didn't have the I-spy, buy i got the Goosebumps.
mominthepark Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 These are great games, my 7 year old loves them. I will try calling first, but I know that we will be eating Wendy's soon, so if that doesn't work, I will have the bag. Thanks for the head's up:o
jarerice Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 I just called and ordered the I-spy with no problems using the info about. Thanks theboyzmom!!!!
decafmom Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 I just called again and was able to order. She said she just needed to use a different code. Thankfully someone answered in less than 2 minutes. I did salvage my bag from the trash to mail in if I needed too though. Thanks again! :)
jmm1014 Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 I just ordered this, they told me it would be $7.49 for both??? I don't know...we will see what I get ( in 3-4 weeks)!!
decafmom Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 I just ordered this, they told me it would be $7.49 for both??? I don't know...we will see what I get ( in 3-4 weeks)!!You know, funny thing is I didn't even ask for an order total. How bad is that? I hope I'm not unpleasantly surprised!
Bab1075 Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I thought I should point out that the games are DVD games and not CD-ROM Games. Wendys.com has the info. The games must be played on a DVD player or a computer with a DVD drive. Barb :)
MeMyselfI Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I had my DH stop on his way home from work and get us Wendy's for dinner only because I wanted these. I told him to make sure he asked for 2 different ones for the kids. They got Peanuts toys in their meals I was so disappointed.
cr8on Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Well I am going to Wendy's for lunch today to try to get these (sound like great stocking stuffers) I want the I spy and the Goosebumps. Went on Wendys.com and the goosebumps game is finding the differance between two pictures and my son loves those as much as I Spy. Wish me luck !!!!! I will post after work and let you all know how it goes.
theboyzmom Posted November 28, 2006 Author Posted November 28, 2006 well the order form on my wendy's bag says CD-ROM...the freebie IN the bag was a DVD (also the pic of the game on the bag says CD-ROM) hope that helps
WillowBean Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I tried to call in to Scholastic and order but they said no. If you want to try calling remeber that Scholastic has a huge teacher base so call ing at lunch or before or after school is not a good idea. I went to Wendy's today and got the game and the certificate fo rthe mail in offer - I hope it gets here in time for Christmas.

cr8on Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Hey now you are ruining my perfectly good excuse for eating bad.......lol
dpape Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 I got the Maya and Miguel yesterday and let the boys play last night. It was very cute. It was a memory matching game, but you had to match the sounds instead of pictures. Worked great, graphics were ok, but nothing spectacular. overall, a GREAT DEAL for free!
jmm1014 Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 I got my cd's yesterday...my son will love it! Thanks
theboyzmom Posted December 14, 2006 Author Posted December 14, 2006 I was just coming to say that mine came today!!! Both are CD-ROMs and it is $9.99 for BOTH and no shipping... I think you can still order....
