Rebirth Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 If only Illinois had Texas' weather, and Texas had Illinois' weather. There would be more campers in IL, and less campers in TX.
noehlp Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Thanks for the pictures!! I love them! I especially like the one with the woman that has no socks or shoes on. Can we say 'comfy'?
juskait Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 If I were to wait outside with shorts on where I live I think I would have frozen to death!

Can we say 'comfy'?Thanks for the kind comments. Alot of people got comfy out there. Some had cots and beds. A group of arabic girls busted out a hookah. I would have taken a picture of it but they were wearing a Niqab and I did not want to over step my bounds and make them uncomfy. If you dont know what a Niqab is please look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niqab

bigjimslade Posted November 27, 2006 Author Posted November 27, 2006 hahaha what store did you to somebody busted out a hookah here.Plano TX (Store 202)2800 N Central ExpyPlano, TX 75074Phone: 972-578-8000 In North Dallas we have a very big Middle Eastern and East Indian (South Asian) population so I was not really shocked it happened. Just a first. It is very normal to see Middle Eastern women covered and they all drive mini vans.
snickstx Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 There was a hookah in line in Mansfield, TX as well.....I guess I just don't get it. I watched them clean it after they used it and it was too much touble for me. Anyway, I like Marlboros better.

Did you get on any pics?
mrn8 Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 How long were the first people in line that they needed to set up tents? With weather like that, I'd think a chair would do just fine.
bigjimslade Posted November 27, 2006 Author Posted November 27, 2006 Are any of the spots up front yours? Did you get on any pics?My group of 5 was numbers 6 - 10 and then we adopted 2 Indian women which I became friends with so they were 11 and 12. Since you asked here is Big Jim Slade in line. http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m207/davedfw/Black%20Friday%202006/DSC00264.jpg I look fat but I am not. The coat I was wearing was a ski coat to keep warm. My cover has been blown! :) How long were the first people in line that they needed to set up tents? With weather like that, I'd think a chair would do just fine. The first people in line was an Indian couple which were in chairs got there around 10pm on Wednesday night. The people in the dark blue and grey dome tent got there around 11:30pm on Wednesday. I got there around 12 noon on Thursday. The women in the chair with the leg cast next to the light blue tent we think was homeless and was sitting in line for someone. The reason we think she was homeless because she did not know what a computer really was and my friend who is a police officer who was with us told me he thinks that he has seen her in Downtown Dallas at the soup kitchen. We could not be 100% sure.
H_Hancock Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Great pics!!! Wish we'd had that many shopping carts to work with at our BB, though. We used what carts BB left outside to make essentially a barricade for the people in line to prevent line crashers. We used the carts like this: We started a line of carts between the entrance and exit doors straight out until they were even with the concrete pilings, then turned the line of carts down the front of the store, parallel to the store, on the outside of the concrete pilings. Left plenty of space for walking, chairs, whatever, but absolutely prevented the parking-lot late-comers from crashing the line at 4AM. If you go to the link below, you can see in one of the pictures, and I know they're small, sort of what we did with the carts. Sorry, I didn't think to take pics. In one or two of the video interviews, you can see the line of carts we used.....just too bad we didn't have as many as y'all did. :) http://www.wrdw.com/home/headlines/4752916.html
deelite Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Cool pics! Nah you're not fat...you look great!! Seems like you had a great time. I did as well and I hope to do it all next year!
madi5 Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 i was there.. but at the other end of the line... .THE END PART

Marcster Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I stay as far away from BB on BF as possible. My first stop was OfficeMax on BF. We got there 5 minutes before they opened, we were 10th and 11th in line, and were walking out the door at 5:10 am with everything on my list. But to each their own. Great pics, Jim. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Drink/Beer-Chug.gif With your description, it sounds like people tailgaiting for a Jimmy Buffet concert.
shanni Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I'm still so jealous of seeing someone in shorts!
Bunniq Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Thank you for posting. I love looking at BF pictures. In my hurry I forgot my camera, I would have loved to get a picture of our BB from the highway.

I would have gone stir crazy I think if I'd been there since Wednesday! My parents felt sorry for me and my friends so they fixed us each a plate. They even fixed a plate for the two Indian sisters who were next to us who I am friends with and stay in contact with.
Gurnee Al Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Hey Big Jim, what's with the Red carts?? Every BB I've been to has all yellow carts. Where they borrowing some carts from Target??
tazolover Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Looks like a great group! And you look warm and comfy! Thanks for sharing pics from your BF!
