BUYer.COM beware!

I just received a HP digital camera I ordered from buy.com the other day. They shipped it in an ENVELOPE! ...and when I opened the envelope and took out the sealed HP box, the camera is rolling around loose inside it! Who the hell ships electronics in an ENVELOPE! Just thought I'd let you guys know.

Was it one of those corrugated envelopes that is glued around the perimeter? I get my books in those envelopes when I order them from buy.com.

 

Your description gives me the mental image that it came in a paper envelope. I sort of don't think that's the case, but maybe I'm wrong.

I've never had trouble, everything has always been packaged very well. Amazon is a different story.....

Ahhh yes....my first and only purchase from Amazon. The Cher Barbie in 2003, I think it was. Arrived SMASHED!!! They replaced it, but what a hassle.

No... this was a brown paper envelope with very thin bubble padding lining the inside. Not something I would have ever dreamed anyone would ship electronics in. The camera shifted freely inside the envelope and also freely inside the box it came in! Disappointment all around!

Was it new? They usually are packed very well from the factory in the original box

Yep... it was new. Dunno why they packed it like they did. The HP box it came in is thin and sealed, but it feels like it has zero 'guts' inside the hold the camera in place. I don't want to open it for fear they won't take it back!
