koalamom
If they have the $199 laptops will they hand out tickets for this item? If so, when do they usually start handing out the tickets, is it in line before 5AM? Could I go to the store like at midnight and get a ticket? I just want to increase my chances of getting one. mcmc
there are going to be two things that need tickets or coupon how ever you want to say it both will be at layaway. one is the 42 " tv the other is Secret #8. Not sure when they will hand them out. Usually don't hand out numbers til like two hours before the start of something.

blessedwife
Just called my local Wal-mart and they said they will hand out NO TICKETS. It's basically whoever grabs the stuff first which I think is just stupid. They had news reports last year with all the violence in the Wal-Marts because they go with the anybody grab what they can policy, and some people got into big fights and got hurt. Why can't Wal-Mart catch a clue from Best Buy and reward the people that camp out and wait in line by handing out tickets?????? Such a simple, civilized solution. Also, they put alot of the doorbusters in odd locations, so it's a pushing, shoving scavenger hunt trying to locate where they have put the best deals. I may just have to do Best Buy....not sure I can take getting beat up for a few deals!
fiasmom
Down here in South FL they don't do tickets either. I did Walmart last year on BF, not a super center, and it was totally nuts. People pushing shovin, and running you over with the carts. I'll check out the online stuff this year.
peachysquirt21
I think this means it will be even MORE crazy at Walmart. UGH.Which makes me even more thankful that I dont have to be there this year. I think these 8 new deals are gonna cause even more chaos at Walmart this year then previous years. mcmc
I have to say I am just amazed at how unorganized some of the Wal_Mart stores are. There is no reason for all that chaos. Heck at our store they always give out tickets for the big things and for new game systems. They hand them out at 10 pm when something comes out at midnight. Heck when we had lines for the play station 3 in the morning our store took them out donuts and coffee. They got to come in to lawn & garden at 6 pm. When it was for the Wii they got to come in at 8 pm and were given chicken tenders and potato wedges. Had no problem with either one of the game system. You can do things nice and orderly or you can do them chaotically and stupidly. Just please do not blame the company Wal_Mart for what happens it is the individual stores it is not the whole company. It is the people running the individual store. You tell me how a person is suppose to get a 42 inch tv with out a ticket. It isn't exactly going to fit into somebodies cart now is it??? And last year in some store they were throwing the laptops to the customers that is plain stupid!!!!! But it is individual stores it is not Wal_mart the company. moms3MONSTERS
I live in small town about 20,000 people and this is my first time to try the Black Friday at Walmart. About what time should I plan on arriving for some of those big sale items?[/QUOTaE] At the latest 2 a.m. i live in a small city and small surrounding cities total pop. about 15000 and these crazy people will line up at midnight for the good stuff.....take a buddy so if they do not hand out tickets 4 elbows are better than 2 last year i crawled on the floor underneath everyone and used my body to guard an item....GOOD LUCK:cheesy:
koalamom
I live in a very small community and travel 1/2 hr. to get our Wal-Mart. They have handed out tickets for the bigger items the last couple of years. Like someone said if it can't fit in a cart then you get a ticket and then pay for it and go out to a trailer to pick it up. And they hand out tickets to some select items that they know are extremely hot items and they know they don't have enough to go around. So the people at the front that have waited the longest get a ticket.

koalamom
All the earlybird specials are in the aisles. Someone on here had a name for this but I can't remember what they called it. The other stuff that is just in the regular flyer are where they are orginally in the store. The one super wal-mart that I went to stayed open and you could go in and walk around to find what you wanted and then you just had to stand by that pallet until 5:00am. They would anounce when it was officially 5:00 AM and whoever was closet to that pallet would just rip off the plastic. Then you just proceeded from there. The Super Wal-mart I am going to this year was just built last year, before it was just a small Wal-Mart that closed and you had to wait outside till they opened. But they would have greeters with the tickets as you walked in.
