Queen Sheet Set

I am looking to get a couple of sheet sets but I want the highest thread count for the best value. I hear Gordman's has them at a good price but I haven't been able to get by there yet. Is $70 for 450 thread count a good deal?

Amazon.com has a 1,200 thread count queen sheet set on sale for $70 and it qualifies for free shipping. I am eyeing these up because my dh loves soft sheets. here is the link

I saw some 900 thread count at TJMaxx (B&M) for 35.00 (Clearence but the had a lot) Might be worth checking out.

Overstock has really really good prices on high thread count sheet sets and the shipping is only $2.95 (sometimes cheaper!)

My grandmother used to buy us expensive thread count sheets. She told me last year that once you go past 400 it's not worth it. The higher the thread count the more cotton in them. The more the cotton the harder they are to get the wrinkles out. If you get a good blend of polyester and cotton they look better. Don't get me wrong it's not just about looks, they feel good too!
