alimfp Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 I still don't know which store I am going to first! I did just get Best Buy out of the way. I ordered the items online for BF prices. Now between Fred Meyer, Target, KMart..
shopperstef Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 Me neither!! I think I've narrowed it down to Sears, Mervyn's or Office Max. Do you know how busy Fred Meyer will be? I'm thinking of doing a quick dash because they're so close to home.
alimfp Posted November 26, 2004 Author Posted November 26, 2004 Actually, I don't. I know I was at one in Portland (82nd ave) about three years ago on BF.. I got there 45 min early and there was about 50 people in line already. Eeeks. There's a Freddies just up from me as well, I may go there first and then run like heck to Sears (another option, lol).
shopperstef Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 lol That's exactly what I had in mind... I'm trying to work out what the chances are that if I hit Freddies, I'll still be one of the first 200 at Sears.. probably not so good.
alimfp Posted November 26, 2004 Author Posted November 26, 2004 Ditto. I keep looking at the Sears and Freddies ads now, trying to figure out what is worth it. LOL.
RossMAN Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 Actually, I don't. I know I was at one in Portland (82nd ave) about three years ago on BF.. I got there 45 min early and there was about 50 people in line already. Eeeks. I was at that exact same Best Buy 3 years ago. Such a small world. Did you know they tore down that 82nd Ave Cinemas and there is a new GI Joe's in it's place?
alimfp Posted November 26, 2004 Author Posted November 26, 2004 Yes, I wasn't happy. Even though that theatre wasn't my fave, I was surprised to see it go for some reason. And the one in Clackamas Town Center is gone as well. Oh well.. more stores to shop at (kidding).
RossMAN Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 Have you been out to the new Century Theaters Cedar Hills Crossing in Beaverton?
alimfp Posted November 26, 2004 Author Posted November 26, 2004 Nope, I haven't. We usually go to Century 16 Eastport off of 82nd ave. :)
MrsHoneybee Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 I've seen the TV ads for Fred Meyer's and they're offering free refreshments. Plus Target is advertising various wake up calls...funny idea but I guess good for those who may wanna use that. :)
RossMAN Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 That's still a nice theater. There are so many movies out that I want to see. Next on the list is probably Incredibles.
alimfp Posted November 26, 2004 Author Posted November 26, 2004 If I ever get out to the movies again, that'll be the day, lol. Thanks MrsH! I am thinking Freddies is my first stop this morning, then Office Max..
shopperstef Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 I've seen the TV ads for Fred Meyer's and they're offering free refreshments. Plus Target is advertising various wake up calls...funny idea but I guess good for those who may wanna use that. :)Oooh, free refreshments! I love Freddies. Sounds silly, but we go there so often that I almost want to avoid it on BF. I'd rather go places I've never been before and bask in the insanity Now, whoever offered hot coffee/tea while people stand in line would be hugely popular! I think I've also decided on Fred Meyer and then OfficeMax. Followed by quick stops at Mervyn's, Staples and Circuit City. Is that too ambitious? Heh, maybe, but we'll see. I've decided Sears isn't worth it -- it takes up too much precious shopping time to drive all the way out to Northgate and back.
RossMAN Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 Oooh, free refreshments! I love Freddies. Sounds silly, but we go there so often that I almost want to avoid it on BF. I'd rather go places I've never been before and bask in the insanity Anywhere is better than BB, that place is a madhouse. I prefer Staples, Office Max, Office Depot, Target, Fred Meyers, etc.
shopperstef Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 Yeah, I quickly ruled out BB after reading about the lines at checkout and before open. No, thanks!
alimfp Posted November 26, 2004 Author Posted November 26, 2004 Has anyone decided what time to go to Freddies (if it's your first stop of course)?
shopperstef Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 I'll be there at 4:45am... I know it's only 15 mins before open but it's not like I'm desperate for any doorbusters. I just want to soak it all up and check out the DVDs and calendars.
RossMAN Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 Freddies won't be as crowded, maybe 4:30 AM?
shopperstef Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 Ok... after days and hours (tonight) of mulling over all of the ads, I have a plan of attack! Freddies, OfficeMax, Mervyn's, Costco, Old Navy in that order, starting at 4:45am. Then, if I have time/energy, I'll hit Staples, Circuit City, JC Penney or Target. Oh, and I'm going to use that Border's coupon for the $9.99 Bridget Jones' Diary DVD but that's valid all weekend so I might save it for tomorrow.
RossMAN Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 What are you going to get at CostCo? HOW CAN YOU SURVIVE IN AUSTRALIA WITHOUT COSTCO???
shopperstef Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 *cries* DON'T REMIND ME!! I honestly have no idea! I watch my Mum stock up there once every 2 months or so and see the money she saves and argh... Australia needs Costco badly!! That, and ROSS. I think I may hyperventilate from the withdrawl from those two. I'll have to... *gasp* PAY RETAIL!! Oops, forgot to say what I was getting at Costco! I'm checking out the Fox/WB DVD sets, the Planet Sleep pajamas (great quality, cute patterns! I own 3 pairs already) and Mum wants to check out a KitchenAid mixer.
RossMAN Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 I'll have to... *gasp* PAY RETAIL!! Say those words again and you will be j/k
