mcknight_collee Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I can't wait I'm getting in line with my Turkey dinner..
deelite Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I can't wait I'm getting in line with my Turkey dinner..I like that....but not too much, because what goes in must come out! If you are going to have to stay in line 8-10 hours, try not to eat/drink too much unless you have a partner.
mcknight_collee Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I am going with my son and my niece so we can take potty breaks. I called a friend who worked at BB last bf and she said that they had food vendors and a port-a-potty in the parking lot..sounds pretty comfy to me. I want to make sure that I get the things I want I have been saving for bf for 4 months.

I hope that BB really does give out tickets in an organized way cause I really don't feel like fighting this year. I already know what to expect from WM !
swelsh524 Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 I know everyone is all excited about the emachine. I went last year to BB for the emachine they had for around the same price and they only had 10 in the store. What our Best Buy did was give the first 10 customers at the ddoor before opening a card with a number and they were the only people allowed to purchase the computer. So I wasted hours at BB for nothing. There was almost a swarm of people ready to fight and arguements were breaking out all over the parking lot. It was complete chaos! I left, so I don't know what the events were after that, but I heard the police were called in to escort people from the store.
jcarr492 Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 One per HOUSEHOLD???? Is that right? So...if I'm buying one for myself and dh is with me with money from my cousin...are they not going to let us get them? are they gonna ask for ID from us prior to giving us tickets??? We're planning on camping..so I need to know.

We're planning on camping..so I need to know.Just stand in line and act like you are seperate. (okay that doesnt make much sense) When they hand out the tickets, everyone of you who wants one should just pipe up and say yes. If they ask you if you are in the same household/live together, just lie and say no, I doubt they will care enough to ask to see your ID.
swelsh524 Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 They don't ask for ID and last year I don't believe they even asked if you were in the same household. They gave tickets to the first 10 people who said they were interested in the computer and that was it.

I would not put it past them if they did this year.
deelite Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 I LOVE this stuff!! I see soooo much stuff I want, but looks like so far Best Buy has won out with the laptop. Well, until Walmart put out their "REAL" ad.
Jewel11 Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 My husband wants the laptop they have advertised for sale for BF... I wonder how early we should get in line for!
deelite Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 My husband wants the laptop they have advertised for sale for BF... I wonder how early we should get in line for! At least by 10:00 pm, if not earlier!!
glimmergirl Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Dose anyone know what emachine model number this is?
migirlfriday Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Dose anyone know what emachine model number this is?T3522
migirlfriday Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 The CompUSA emachines (T6542 I think) for $299 is a better computer but does not have a LCD monitor. Plus I can't read if it says there are rebates, probably. I am still going for Best Buy.
meyou Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Are you serious 10pm be in line? What time does the doors open?
deelite Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Are you serious 10pm be in line? What time does the doors open? The doors don't open until 5 am, but the line will probably start around 10pm. Some people "claim" they will be in line by 5pm the day before!
deelite Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Check out the "How early will you be going to BB? << merged >> " thread.
ldz81 Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 I'm not sure how much they've improved, but my first computer in college (that was almost 8 years ago now) was an eMachines, and it was terrible. It crashed at every opportunity it had, had terrible software, outdated drivers, and needed to have its cache cleared at least once a week in order to operate. My sister-in-law had one as well and had similar problems about 2 years ago. Mine was bought at CC and her's was at BB

Ever since Gateway took them over I think they are better computers and they are perfect for everyday use.

Ever since Gateway took them over I think they are better computers and they are perfect for everyday use.I'm going to agree w/ that. And I think that I'm also going to add this emachine desktop to my black friday shopping list. Thinking about using it as a platform for a htpc. Does anyone have any more detailed specs on this until? Free PCI, PCIx, RAM slots... Memory frequency... etc? I thinking of adding in a tv tuner card some RAM and another HDD and recording some television !
aprilbaseballmo Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Does anyone know if this comes with a keyboard. The picture doesn't show one? It still is a great deal!
