elena_398 Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Has anyone started making their appointments for their kids' christmas pics yet? I called Walmart today and got in on November 20th. That will be around the 2nd week of December for them to be in. I couldn't believe how many appointments there already were. The week before my appointment is already booked! Told my friends as they go to Walmart also. Hate for them not to get in.
poofu02 Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 I make my own Christmas cards. It costs less and I can do it pretty quickly. It is kind of crazy that they are booked up like that since it is only November 8th. The people who wait to book their appointments close to Christmas might not even get in.
momof5plus1hubby Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 I got my 3 younger ones done last week...Wal-Mart is very busy LOL..I was thinking about doing the older ones done too there. $6.00 is alot better than 30.00 for school pics:no:
mollannie Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 My sons had their pictures taken at Walmart yesterday. You can't beat the $5.88 price. T
elena_398 Posted November 9, 2006 Author Posted November 9, 2006 My friend called our Walmart the other day and they squeezed her daughter in the last week of November. Im shocked how many people are making appointments so early. Never had this rush before at the portrait studio.
mackeeg Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 I took my son in today for school pics. The school prices are to high. We walked right in. There were only 5 appt. marked in her book for today.
dpape Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 I will only use a specific photographer at Wal-Mart. She is the absolute best. My kids adore her, so we always take the pictures early (mid-Oct) so we are sure to get the best photogratpher and the best time for the kids. We also purchased the Photo Christmas ornament and have it back. It is very cute. Not going on the tree! (Small problem with my youngest and the tree last year - he took all the balls off the tree and smashed them into the carpet. Still finding bits.)
elena_398 Posted November 19, 2006 Author Posted November 19, 2006 Well, this Monday night is our pics. Im a tad nervous as my daughter has the sniffles. She may be red nosed in the pic. LOL. If its not one thing its another. Hopefully everything else goes ok.
dmmiller Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 We just made our own last year.. I sat the kids down the weekend we put up the tree, got out my dig. Camera, and took about 5 shots. Went online to WM and downloaded the best one, made it into a card, and Poof.. Done. All I had to do was p/u in the photo center. Very easy, and Very reasonable.
grace474 Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 We make our own also. Luckily my husband is a photographer, and we often spend hours trying to make sure the kids are both looking the same direction, no ones nose is running, no ones tounge is hanging out, etc. The 5 "poses" they take at the studios never managed to have everything "together" in any one shot.
readerof3 Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 I tried at Target but they didnt have what I wanted for this month. I might have to ask about next month. Its weird though, they asked for how many people then they said they didnt have any appointments for the day I wanted. Why ask if you dont have any openings? Doesnt make sense to me.
elena_398 Posted November 21, 2006 Author Posted November 21, 2006 Well last night was christmas pics. God how I dread it. LOL. Got right in at Walmart (only $9.99 for 45 pics), girl taking the pics was WONDERFUL. So patient (I stopped after awhile lol). Only allowed 24 pics to get your package pic. We finally got ours on frame #22. My daughter kept tilting her head and looking away from the camera with her eyes. My son's smile (if you can call it that) looked like someone was stabbing him from behind. finally though we got a super pic after the girl started cracking jokes about me. Yes, I'll be the brunt of any joke if it gets my kids to look natural and smile.
dmmiller Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 LOL LMAO. Thats too funny. Glad to hear you got that all over with, and with your sanity still in tact. :)
cleverbffool Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 I take my own pictures in front of the tree or outside in front of a lake in town.
ajburlingame Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 I decided I was going to try to take some myself this weekend since I have procrastinated it off this long.
elena_398 Posted November 21, 2006 Author Posted November 21, 2006 Even though it was so cheap, I may just take my own next year. I have a great digital camera. The stress of getting them all dressed up, fixing hair, then dealing with the smiles is too much. Im usually patient, but my nerves were fried after awhile.
bbluv2boop Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 We take our Grandsons pictures at Babies R Us. You get them the same day (in about 10 minutes). We use to go to Walmart but then a friend told us about BRU. They run about the same price. What we really like is that you don't have to wait for your pictures!!
elena_398 Posted November 26, 2006 Author Posted November 26, 2006 wow didn't know that about Babies R Us. Never knew that took pics. Thanks for letting us know
