I bought the Gateway GT5082 for $303.99. It is similar to the T6536 only it has a dual core processor, and 2gb of memory. You might see if your local BB has one of these in stock.

I was wondering how good the video card is on the $189 emachine at Best Buy.

Would it be able to run Age of Empires III or Civilization IV?

If you are a big time gammer then the emachine is not for you. Emachines are good for business and personal use not big games. I play Simcity on mine and it does ok.

This will be my first Black Friday shopping trip since I am not one to go out and fight people for things I don't need but, well, this year I am planning (hoping) to pick up the eMachine pc for $189 and, if things work out, the ATI x1600 Pro video card but I have a question...

From what I have seen, Best Buy opens at 5am on BF and I was wondering what time I should plan to be outside ? I was planning on about 3am but am not sure how "dedicated" some people are so shold I plan on earlier or would 3 work ? I know that noone can know for sure without watching the doors there but just in general would help.

My email is [DELETED] if you can email me with any answer you might have.

Thiamonkey, the eMachine runs good. For a "low budget" computer company, eMachines provides very good machines that are remarkable stable (for running MS). As for the on-board video, it should run it just fun though, as I plan to do, BB also has a 512 Mb ATI x1600 Pro video card for sale for only $99.99 which is more than a hundred off retail.

I see people saying eMachines are not good for gaming but I am currently running an older eMachine ( AMD 2400+ @ 2.0 Ghz, with 512 Mb of RAM, and an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro video card) and am playing Half Life 2, Quake 3, Doom 4, and both the newer Need For Speed games and it does just fine. True, I cannot turn every setting to high but medium runs extremely well with little loss in graphic feel.

Here is the key, any "basic" PC is nothing super when it comes to gaming, it is what you put into your machine that makes it, not the brand it began as.

In general I would get in line around midnight.

Please read these threads which should give you an idea of just how "dedicated" some BF shoppers are. Remember they're salivating about BF for 11 months before November hits and they're willing to do anything to get the eMachines desktop.

Welcome to the community! If you go at 3am then you wont get your computer. If you want a good chance to get your computer that you want I would get to BB no later then 8pm on Thursday. Every year the laptops and desktops are what the people line up for and this year will be the same. Good Luck!
