Brad
Apple has a 2GB Nano refurbished for $99 shipped: http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/6774003/wo/6c1N5pooF4hO2DQ795n1UdTcDhu/2.0.0.21.1.0.8.7.3.5.1.1.1.1.5.1.0.5.0 I don't think you'd have any problems with a refurbished unit straight from Apple. Otherwise Amazon tends to have discounts on new versions.
elena_398
I got my son a 2 GB iPod Nano. Holds up to 500 songs. Im sure when he gets older I'll get him a bigger GB, but for his first one, I think this size is fine. I didn't buy refurbished, but haven't heard its a bad thing though. I bought new at Circuit City (well my sons grandmother did :))
i.feature
Apple refurbs are one of the best ways to go. I even bought my computer that way.. saved a bundle.
