Purchases before Black Friday

My son's birthday is 3 days before Black Friday. If I purchase something that goes on sale on Black Friday, do any stores give you a price adjustment?

Toys R US says they will if it is within 45 days of purchase.

I think that some stores will and some will not. It's best if you ask when you purchase the item. A lot of stores only have a 14 day price adjustment too. You could always buy the item again on black friday and return it with your original receipt.

You will need to do what Bargainfinder is suggesting if the reason a given item is cheaper is due to a rebate only offered on B.F.

That's right and a good idea.

 

But the big ticket items are usually pulled off the shelves several days before the same.

I think this year I might take the chance and buy something before hand and do a price adjustment BF. The worst that can happen is I return it within the return period.

Usually it will not work. But, you could buy something before blackfriday then buy another of the same item on blackfriday and take back the unopened one for the full price if you kept the reciept from the first one. Or just buy a giftcard for him and have him go to the blackfriday sale.

if you are going to buy items before black friday and are wondering if that product willbe on sale BF...check the sales ads here when they get leaked and scanned...then you will know what to buy and what not to buy...

All depends on where you're going and what you're getting. Just remember to be very careful what you're buying. They won't consider price adjusting or ad matching on BF unless the item you bought is the EXACT same item, right down to the model number. Some items on BF are special ordered for BF only (ex.: a specific version/color/bundle of the Nintendo DS). And they might have specific rules about no price adjusting or matching on BF.
