Cecilliadb Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Shopaholicism isn't a religion? It should be!! :)
BFQueenofNY Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Why on earth do you feel guilty? You have to by 7 gifts for Chanukah we only have one day!
stationchief Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 I really don't feel that guilty. I worked hard for my laptop last year, just like the people before me in line worked hard for theirs. I might feel guilty if I took advantage of the deals, like buying the last 5 laptops to sell on eBay when they forget to set a limit per person and the lady with kid behind me doesn't get one. Or if I 'accidentally' hurt someone, like if I had to dive for the last item and ended up knocking someone over whose reflexes are a tad slower tham mine. I'm a very moral, God fearing person. I wouldn't do any of that stoff. I'll do what I gotta do to get an unbelievable deal, but I won't do it to someone else. You shouldn't feel guilty for gettin' those deals. All depends if 'ya should for what you did to get it.
AndreaInNC Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Don't feel guilty .. I have to tackle countless folks of Indian descent on BF every year - and the last thing that I heard was that the Hindu religion doesn't recognize christmas .. I'm not complaining .. it's every man/woman for themselves on BF .. lol Just think of yourself as Hannukah shopping
ReallyNeatGirl Posted October 13, 2006 Author Posted October 13, 2006 I think all guilt has now been absolved.... :)
BabyFu18 Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Don't feel guilty, shopping should be fun! I family uses BF to christmas shop, just because there are some things we would never get if they didn't go onsale, but everyone shops for different reasons. If you are standing in line, fighting your way through crowds, out in the early hours of the morning, you deserve a good deal just like anyone else.
peachysquirt21 Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 I think all guilt has now been absolved.... :)Good, now you can start thinking about all the bargains, running from store to store to get them. LOL
happysunshine28 Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 I dont think religion should factor in on finding a bargain, it doesnt matter what day you shop, if you are saving money.
bigjimslade Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 I think all guilt has now been absolved.... :)Mosel Tov!
ellen zachariia Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 I am Jewish and I use BF to shop for Hanukah. Hey every little bit of savings helps and consdering I have to buy 8 gifts for each of my two kids, and DH. WE also buy gifts for other friends and family so if it were not for BF we would not be able to do it any other way. DO NOT FEEL GUILTY. GO OUT AND HAVE A GREAT BF.
aznsniper911 Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 No because Black Friday is a marketing tool to boost profits, so in reality there is actually really no harm done, they do it for the money and you do it because of the prices.
jellybean051901 Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 I personally intend to buy myself a laptop on BF and do not feel the least bit guilty. It would be different if you were buying stuff just to resell it.
