go2grl Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 I got the sale flyer for bf at Walmart oday in the mail. Looks like the items were right, and nothing good there this year. I was excited because I thought it was a big thick flyer with maybe some surprises inside...no such luck. 7 pages (not cramped by any means) of the sale items from 6am-11am. Many even say also available on walmart.com. I'm skipping wm this year. Anyways, just wanted to let you guys know I got mine in the mail, and not through the Thursday paper.
samcasey Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 I got the delivery of some BF flyers today, too. BB is saying most items are available online as well. So, who's not doing the "also available online" thing but strictly B&M? BTW, there's no Apex 27" TV for $89.99, no eMachines AMD Athlon XP 2800+ with LCD monitor 15" for $349.99, or 14" MAG LCD Monitor for $99. But there is a WD 160GB HD for $29.99! So all hope is not lost. Just hope I can get it online and not have to wait in line for 3 to 5 hours. And the weather forecast for my neck of the woods is COLD!!!
mommy2twingles Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 any kind person able to email them. We do not get the ad from walmart in the mail or paper. I would like to take a look at it before I get there friday.
MarkRaby Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Hmm...I wonder who those mailings are limited to? I always get all kinds of stuff from Best Buy in the mail, but I didn't get a BF ad today. --Mark--

Mike Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 I got something from BB today...but it wasnt the BF ad...maybe if you spend a certain amount there per year on your BB card?
accord 4 me Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 samcasey, what are the details on the hard drive? is there a limit on how many? also is the price after mail in rebates? thanks :)i'm wondering the same thing :)
venerdinero Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Got the WMart ad -it was ok - not spectacular. Did not get anything from BB. I'm curious if this will turn out to be the bleak BF some have predicted OR if maybe the stores will resort to "unadvertised" specials, thereby rewarding the faithful who line up outside the store, but avoiding the pitfalls of being PMd or having the well prepared customers cherry pick each store.

Anything on the TOSHIBA notebook at BB???? Thanks again!

MarkRaby Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 I didn't get the Wal-Mart or Best Buy ad today, but someone at another site has posted pics of the BB ad -- I don't know whether or not I should link the site, but I'll just say that almost every "rumored" deal is in there. --Mark--

samcasey Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 venerdinero, there is a couple of laptops I can recall on the ad. I don't have it in hand right now. But there's a Toshiba Satellite with 2.66GHz Celeron M, 256MB, 40GB, and DVD-CDRW for $499 after $400 INSTANT REBATE (No MIR!!!)! Now I know where you'll be camping this Friday morning. :-)
alm99 Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 How has the deal for laptops in the past worked? Did you have to wait in the computer department for the sales to try and load you up with a bunch of crap? At my BB for the past two years, the limited quanity door buster items they were giving out vouchers to those who stood in line for hours. The vouchers allowed those people and myself to shop for other things and pick them up at the checkout. Do they do this with Laptops as well?

peachysquirt21 Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 It came in the mail today. I looked thru it & am like wooooohooooo I dont have to waist valuable time & be pushed left & right & possibly stuck in the cheapy DVD section. I can head to Target instead.

Finally more and more things are instant rebates instead of waiting around to get your cash back! Thanks for the heads up on that. Wish I could see the ad. My newspaper hardly has the ads in them. Am thinking someone finds places they want and leaves ads out of their whole delivery area. And they wonder why they don't get tipped. Duhhh..lol! Once I see the ad in person I will know for sure about the rebate deal. Am hoping this is correct. Would be great!
bythebeach Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Hello, thanks for the info :) on the hardrive, Yeah! what a deal!, Anyway, does anybody that has the BB ad know, if the 200.00 emachines AR comes with a monitor, or stand alone?

venerdinero Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 B/c of the new style of Celerons...the Celeron M laptops around 1.4 are rated faster than a Celeron 2.66 would be.Interesting. Thanks CheapArse! I'll have to read up, normally I quickly move past things marked Celeron! :) I know they're better than they used to be, but a celeron is still a celeron. At these pricing levels, it's not reasonable to be picky! I have actually purchased Celeron PC's for less than $300 and they have <knocking on wood> performed reasonably well for basic tasks. I'm not sure I'd want to use photoshop on them or start gaming on them, but hey -they serve their purpose.
motoXmom Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Our WM ad has a HP Pavilioin ze4947wm-b Notebook Computer with Backpack for $848.00 I do not have any idea if this is a good buy or not!
