starshine Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 I did Hot Chocolate one year. I filled Christmas Ziplocs with the mix and put a label on it. Then I got really cute containers that looked like chinese take out packages and put the bag inside of that. Then I dipped red and green plastic spoons in melted chocolate and wrapped them in plastic wrap added a few ribbons and it looked great everyone loved them. I have also made the cookie dough mix I bought nice plastic tubs and filled them with M&M cookie mix. Made a nice label and attached it to the top. Another big hit.
ms_mckenna Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Every year for teachers we do baskets one of the things we always put in them are chex mix. DH makes it every year, he makes it extra spicy. Last year I put them in mason jars and used little fabric squares as part of the lids. They turned out really cute. My best friend makes candles I will ask her when she gets back tomorrow what the board is that she goes too for help. It's just for candle making but I cannot remember the site.
pampam Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Someone suggested http://www.recipecottage.com/dry-mixes/ in another forum and it's so comprehensive that I bookmarked it for future reference. There are over 200 recipes for mixes and those that are suitable for giving as gifts have clear instructions to attach to the jar.
AndreaInNC Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 I've decorated soap before for the holidays. It's so easy .. I simply buy some of the glycerin soap and then hit the craft store for the kind of transfers that you rub on .. I did some Santas and other holiday designs. I then wrapped the soap in saran wrap .. they turned out really cute!
