Bopeep
Well that was fun to peruse, but I didn’t see anything that made me want to run out and get a Costco membership. I do wish they would put a final price on everything instead of saying it’s so much off.

Iliveforblckfri
Did anyone understand the Apple Savings Event might be? I know my sister wants and Apple Watch, so I am really interested this year. Thanks in advance for any help. Darla

Hopefully we'll get more info released as we get closer. That's about ALL that's on my list this year, a new iPad for my mother since she "doesn't know how" to access the same websites via her phone and too much errors out on iPad due to failure to update anymore. The QR code seems to lead to current sale page which has the 9th generations on sale for $90 off and 10th for $20 off. I'm hoping for at least that or MORE plus a gift card incentive of some kind. If I remember correctly, that's Apple's usual scheme for BF- add ons/gift cards vs outright $$$ deals. Nothing I need to get a membership for at this point. freesia39
Darnit. I just bought that cutting board set. I bought my ipad from Costco online last year - I think I bought the 9th generation and it was like $70 off? I was appreciative of the deal in general, as my old ipad just couldn't handle any websites anymore due to age. In terms of day to day items, for the non Costco members, some of these deals are decent: 1. I always buy the Rao's pasta sauce when it's on sale - in store it's 11.99 (note: i'm in CA, prices may be higher here) so for 8.99 for two jars - that's the price of ONE on sale in the grocery store. 2. 3.00 off parchment paper - this will last you FOREVER. I dated the last one I opened - May 2023 - and it's still not finished, and I still have another box. 3. If you need disposable plates, cups, etc in big quantities for a party - Costco has the best deals. 4. If you need batteries in large quantities - buy the Costco branded ones. For the holiday sales: 1. If you need holiday chocolate (or nuts for baking) - the Godiva box is a good deal, along with the Ghiradelli peppermint bark. Everything else is based on what you may need at this time. Costco is never going to have a deal that is "gotta go line up for it" since they're based on having decent pricing all the time. I also have no context for appliance and TV pricing since I don't need either of those items right now so I'm super mentally checked out. If you needed a Christmas tree, they have them on "sale" right now (yes they're expensive) https://www.costco.com/trees.html Welcome to Costco, I love you, haha.
stacya
Any thoughts on this? We do a lot of traveling, many trips in the winter to Lake Placid, which is a 7.5 hour drive each way, and the last 2 hours of the ride become increasingly more desolate, so if something were to happen, we could definitely be in trouble. I've been wanting to get something that will jumpstart our vehicle without needing to have another vehicle present, but I like that it can inflate tires, too. BigBlue120
Waiting for more info here too. At the right deals, we could be getting a new phone, watch and iPad....
bribri25
Just about to finish up the last of the seasons of joy hand soap from last year! Wonder if that $4.50 off mozzarella sticks is any better than the rest of the year. On 10/25/2024 at 9:57 AM, freesia39 said: Darnit. I just bought that cutting board set. tinkrbel
Curious about the ipad offers but not sure it's worth getting a membership in advance to peruse. Any chance we'll get info before then? Hmmm.....looks like the 9th gen may be cheaper than Target on/after 28th. Shipping is additional but could still be worth it, need to look into membership cost Edited November 13 by tinkrbel
jesusluvu
Its about $60 a year. I have it but hate the traffic to get in there.

bribri25
The savings on the price of gas at Costco far surpasses any annual membership fee. It's at least $.20 less power gallon and at 15 gallons and a tank a week, that's $150 savings just to get your gas at Costco.

Need to see if ours has a gas station. is this just with membership or with associated credit card? Bjs is kinda convenient gas wise but otherwise prefer Sam's for most products and prices. Same price as cheaper BJs (and further/ more complicated spot) so not really a factor except maybe more options on trip Edited Friday at 02:57 PM by tinkrbel

The credit card also gets you 4% on gas anywhere, which is probably worth it (no annual fee with membership), but also lots of credit cards have rewards on gas so it advocating for that as much. There's also 3% on restaurant and travel, and 2% back on Costco warehouse.

Costco Travel discounts can also be worth more than the cost of the membership, if you travel even semi-regularly. I've saved a solid amount on rental cars over the years with the Costco discount.

I did not have to do anything but show up to the airport and after that everything was taking care of.
