alimfp Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I figured it out to cost per diaper for size 5's (what we use). Even with the $10 savings, it is still more per diaper than our store (Safeway, figuring in a $3 off Catalina coupon that we get OFTEN). Oh well.
stacebabe Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I did 3 separate orders of 2 cases at a time, and wow, this sure did end up being a great deal on the Huggies.
Baby Cheapskate Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 This isn't a great deal. It's easy to get cruisers size 3 for less than .20 by shopping sales and using coupons. If you buy two boxes (to get the $10 off), that's what it comes out to. That's not even counting the baby wipes. The bulk buys for diapers can be so misleading. Often, the jumbo packs are actually cheaper per diaper because you can use coupons and because the sales are better. More here: http://babycheapskate.blogspot.com/2006/03/super-mega-prices-for-super-mega-packs.html But thanks so much for the heads up on the deal!
VTmommy Posted August 11, 2006 Author Posted August 11, 2006 I actually haven't purchased diapers online yet, but thinking just about the "hassle factor" of bringing the 3 kids (6,3, and 1) into the store that I would be avoiding is something I am starting to consider! LOL I have been buying Costco diapers for the baby and to the grocery store with coupons for Pampers/Huggies in between bulk buys as Costco is an hour away. I agree the cost per diaper is definately lower when you can couple sale prices with coupons. Sometimes my timing is off for the stores (we live in a rural area with only 2 grocery stores...Walmart, Costco, etc are all an hour away and no Target in the whole state!) and one of the 2 stores doesn't double coupons at all, the other only on 99 cents and under. The other thing to remember is that the $10 off code can be used with other food and grocery items at Amazon too, so maybe I will try it to have my non-perishables -- especially those that are hard to find other coupons for -- delivered right to my door. Baby Cheapskate -- I LOVE your blog! I need one for VT now. Looking for a protege? LOL
Baby Cheapskate Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Aw, shucks! Thanks for the compliments. I do try to include my sources in my posts so that readers can do their own bargain hunting. I want people to be their OWN Baby Cheapskates. But no Target? Sheesh! Regarding the diaper deal, convenience is a huge factor that often gets overlooked when evaluating a deal. How much IS your time and sanity worth?
Mara Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Also look into White cloud from Walmart. They are made by huggies and basically the same diaper as the regular huggies diapers and a case of those is $15. I like them quite a bit
