kimpooh19 Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 Needing some inspiration for fun family activities for Christmas. So far we have planned the obligatory going out to look at Christmas lights, a cookie decorating contest, and a gingerbread house family contest. What are some other fun things that you do with your families?
Kanyon71 Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 We get hot cocoa and have our family pajamas on and go look at the lights. 1
jesusluvu Posted December 5, 2021 Posted December 5, 2021 Christmas movie nights, local parades, polar express train ride, ugly sweater contest (must make yourself), Christmas edition Chopped contest (for the older ones), etc. We try to find fun things to do every year. Not sure what we will come up with this year but I can't wait. 1

Not sure what we will come up with this year but I can't wait. We went to a Christmas parade yesterday with the younger ones and had so much fun! We definitely plan to make that an ongoing thing. I love the idea of making your own ugly Christmas sweater! Fun!
jtitus2014 Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Christmas movie nights with takeout, hot chocolate, and popcorn. We ride around and see Christmas lights while drinking milkshakes/frappes. Christmas parades is also a must do for us every year. We do Gingerbread houses as well. This year we are adding on to our festivities by taking the kids to Suwannae River of Lights in Florida. It's a drive through lights display and at the end of it you can get out and take pictures, see Santa, and make smores. 1
budgetsRsexy Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 My mom always made a big deal about doing an act of charity/giving together as a family. We rang bells for Salvation Army kettles for years. A few years we coordinated with a local nursing home and wrote Christmas cards to each of the residents. These take some pre-planning/coordinating so are not an option this year, but you could take them out to select and buy a gift to donate to a Toys for Tots or similar charity. If you drop off the donation as a family you could then go out for hot chocolate or ice cream together afterward. 2
