Gurnee Al Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 Over the past few days, all pages of the site have been very slow to load for me. Is this happening to anyone else? All of the other Web sites I routinely visit have been loading as normal. Any thoughts??
able Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 this happened to me before...then after that i couldnt even get in!!! then i dont know how/what fixed it.
alimfp Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Have you tried restarting your PC? Being that it's just this site, it's hard to say. I'd still restart, run a virus scan and spyware scan (I'm weird like that though). That said, it's loading supa fast for me.

This has been happening for a few days with my computer being restarted several times. I'll actually try on one of my other PCs to see if it's maybe my PC or my connection. You would think, though, that if either were the problem, it would affect all (or most) web sites. Maybe I'll also try clearing my cache and cookies. Man, this is going painfully slow! Argh!!
Scott Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 There are soooo many variables that can cause this. It is something that you just have to live with some times on the net.
inogenius Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 There's some kind of routing problem internet wide going on today.
stingygrrl Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 It's been slow for me too... just THIS site!yes me too for several days, just this site.
Scott Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 yes me too for several days, just this site.It has been just fine for me. That means that the GD server is just fine and running normally. As SWTerry said, routing problems can affect people differently. Basically, liken it to the freeway on your way to work being under construction, and you have to take an alternate route. You more than double your normal commute. You won't notice it with other sites that don't take that same route.

I don't know what the whole issue was, but all I know is we had a lot of problems in our office in Ohio because of it. Today there's some issues with another smaller backbone provider but it doesn't appear to be causing the same amount of problems.
Gurnee Al Posted July 19, 2006 Author Posted July 19, 2006 I guess I'll just wait it out. GD is still loading very slow for me at home, but at my office, it's loading much faster. (normally, the two locations load at about the same speed.)
Gurnee Al Posted July 24, 2006 Author Posted July 24, 2006 Thankfully, I'm back up to full speed as of this morning. It was almost a full week of painfully slow GD page loads.
