riven3d Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 i see chaos coming for these in store sales 3
Kash Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 Looks like 6 to me with the online and I store being two different days.
riven3d Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 Looks like 6 to me with the online and I store being two different days.actually 5 11/4 online, 11/7 online/instore, 11/11/ online, 11/14 online/instore, the last sale online starts 11/25 like they usually do for BF and in store on 11/27, which is the same sale for BF 3
Brad Posted October 14, 2020 Author Posted October 14, 2020 They are treating it as 3 sales with the same deals online and in-store, But some of the sale items will start online 2-3 days before and the rest will start online on the same day as the in-store sale starts (really, the night before). We shall see if they combine these all into one big ad or if they release 3 separate "BF" ads over the next few weeks. 1
HanShotFirst Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 Hmmmmm. I’m anxious to see how well the associates will manage the crowds. I mean I know what the press release says but we all know folks be crazy at Walmart. If there is anything I want or need in the ad(s), I will try the online route. 1
Brad Posted October 14, 2020 Author Posted October 14, 2020 And there could very well be similar sales going on at Target, Best Buy, etc... during this time as well, potentially with the same starting dates now that WM has revealed their plans. 2
angelbabymommy Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 I’m hoping to score whatever deal I want/need online...Walmart is always crazy in store and this year will be no different especially since deals are still being offered in store.
ilikefree Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 (edited) i see chaos coming for these in store salesWhen they did the in store sales several years ago, people in my small area didn't know about it so I didn't have any trouble at all. Hoping for good deals I can get online this year. Edited October 14, 2020 by ilikefree
ytmomof4 Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 I think I might be interested in 1 or 2 of the $88 tv’s for bedrooms. I’m anxious to see what else there will be
lilwywy Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 I'm excited!!! I don't know if I will go into the stores but I'm glad they starting the online in the evening instead of early in the morning so I won't have to wake up early to get what I want. I wonder are they still going to show ads online so I can see ahead of time what I want or is it going to be a surprise hmmmmmm?
len_mullen Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 i see chaos coming for these in store sales I see OPPORTUNITY! If only I had a new gottadeal.com T-Shirt to protect me as I crash these events... 3
jesusluvu Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 And there could very well be similar sales going on at Target, Best Buy, etc... during this time as well, potentially with the same starting dates now that WM has revealed their plans.I remember when they did this years ago and it was a mess. The associates had no clue of the sales and the items were not in every store. I just hope they get it right this time.
colemandawn4905 Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 I think it’s going to be nothing but chaos. Fighting to get the deals. Associates u sure of deals. Smh I’m glad the stores are going to be closed for thanksgivings but don’t think this years shopping isGoing to be easy. 1
Brad Posted October 16, 2020 Author Posted October 16, 2020 Some of the news articles about this announcement say that Walmart will restrict capacity to only 20% during these sales. I don't forsee that actually happening at every store for all 3 sales... 1
Kash Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 actually 5 11/4 online, 11/7 online/instore, 11/11/ online, 11/14 online/instore, the last sale online starts 11/25 like they usually do for BF and in store on 11/27, which is the same sale for BF My mistake, you are correct
jesusluvu Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 I hope they release the details earlier than midnight. 2
jaymacfla Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 Leave it to wally to mess with the multiple sales approach and force Best Buy to continue to do the same. 1
tracy0504 Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 I feel like they heard me [emoji23] I am glad they are doing it this way... WalMarts here have been controlling the number of customers that enter the stores every BF for years so I don't see it being any different this year... Target is asking for some of their workers who know how to work flex (online fulfillment) to come in at midnight Thanksgiving night to work an 8 hour shift to fill all the online orders they believe they will get on that day... Not sure what time they are opening BF yet... This for sure will be interesting... I know there sales start Nov 1 as far as BF type deals, so a little different than how WalMart is doing their's...
cllehto Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 I hope they post the ads several days before the sale so people can compare prices and decide which site to visit first. I also hope the sites are ready and don't crash like some do. 3

I don't forsee that actually happening at every store for all 3 sales... I don't know if Walmart is as smart as I am, but simply hand out tickets to people waiting in line. Let the people with Doorbuster tickets in immediately. Let others in to meet the 20% level. Count people going in and out to maintain the 20% level. Business as usual. People will hang around as long as the value of their ticket exceeds the pain of waiting. 2

Brad Posted October 19, 2020 Author Posted October 19, 2020 Sale ads for the first 2 Black Friday Events are posted on the BF site. You can discuss the individual sales here: http://forums.gottadeal.com/forum/168-sale-ad-discussion/ 1
daftande Posted October 19, 2020 Posted October 19, 2020 I think I might be interested in 1 or 2 of the $88 tv’s for bedrooms. I’m anxious to see what else there will beBummer that its not 4K (UHD) like the Press Release stated, only FHD. Still a hot deal though!
jroyster86 Posted October 19, 2020 Posted October 19, 2020 I am super disheartened by the number of "in store only" deals in these ads. There's no way I am fighting the crowds to save a few bucks this year. I'm normally the first one out, waiting in line, but this is not a normal year. 1

There's no way I am fighting the crowds to save a few bucks this year. I'm normally the first one out, waiting in line, but this is not a normal year. Agreed. I thought the point of spreading out the sales and having them start online 3 days early to was to keep people away from the stores at the same time. Now instead of everyone hitting the store on one day, they'll do it 3 days. Which, despite their claims otherwise, is probably exactly what Walmart wants. 2
chester5 Posted October 19, 2020 Posted October 19, 2020 Some of the news articles about this announcement say that Walmart will restrict capacity to only 20% during these sales. I don't foresee that actually happening at every store for all 3 sales...Just two observations:1. 20% capacity won't mean much because if they include the garden supplies area when factoring capacity (it could be 20 below but it's part of their store???) and areas like that, 20% is still going to be PACKED.2. Available for pickup is interesting - my closest Walmart is already booked for days. I'd be nervous having something sitting in their storage until I could actually get an appointment. Overall, I sure hope there is plenty of stock online because $99 AirPods would be AWESOME!!!
