I love when the kohls ad drops because it signifies all of the rest coming. I've got one very dear friend that's getting harder to buy for as the years go by simply because he knows I'm the one who always comes up with something unique that he absolutely loves. Hard standard to keep living up to! That said, he gets a full batch of his favorite lemon cookies from the recipe I found several years back along with a pile of other sweet treats (cookies and fudge) that he shares with his family. Beyond that, I just keep my eyes peeled throughout the year. I'm always on the lookout for something that suits his interests that I know he could either use (a Captain Morgan bottle repurposed into a hanging lamp, for example) or just enjoy (he loves all things Ford Motor Company, so I've bought wall clocks, signage, and other knick knacks he can hang either in his house or in his garage). None of them wants or needs anything because like you, we buy when we want/need to. Usually their gifts just fall into place somehow. Sometimes my mother will think of something she thinks my Dad might like so off we go. My mom loves anything we give her although she has nowhere to put knick knack items and she is very difficult to fit for clothes and shoes, so, she’s a hard one. None of the three mind getting gift cards so that is always my last option if nothing else works out. I usually browse our local gift-type stores for gifts often during this time of year.
