mrn8
Great deal on a fairly loaded notebook. It's up to $1013 once I add the upgrades I want, but I'm still considering. Is this today only?
Brad
Great deal on a fairly loaded notebook. It's up to $1013 once I add the upgrades I want, but I'm still considering. Is this today only?I've been seeing "one day only" everywhere that I've seen the deal so I assume it is only for today. I think it's a very nice deal for anyone looking for a laptop. The 1GB ram and 80GB HD is very nice considering the usual is 512MB/60GB for these deals. I'd suggest upgrading the LCD for $100, and getting one of the 2 video card upgrades, but other than that (and maybe the WiFi/Bluetooth) I don't know if I'd upgrade anything else. mrn8
Those are the 2 upgrades I did as well as the the Sound Blaster integrated audio.

cireafan
Is reselling Dell computers legal? According to Dell's terms and policy, you need Dell's permission in order for you to resell Dell computers at a higher price.

Scott
Seems like a good deal. I will have to show this to my wife tonight. She is considering ditching the desktop to go to a laptop only solution. This would still be a significant upgrade to her 1700+ Athlon Desktop.

Guest DigDoug
What upgrades are you considering Nate? I just remembered I have to pay tax on this crap too. Boooo!
mrn8
I was going to get the Genuine XP MCE cd, WSXGA+ LCD, 256mb Video, and Creative integrated sound. I'd possibly back off to the 128mb video card, but I don't think I'd go with standard.

RossMAN
I would definitely get the XP MCE 2005 CD $10 and WSXGA upgrade. Bluetooth would be nice but I'm not sure if I would ever use it?
mrn8
Yes it would be. My wife would use it for working from home and I would be doing web design and remote management with it. I'd also like to use it for some gaming away from home. Starting this summer I'm going to start getting some training on an internal database program we use so I'll be flying to Charlotte, NC a few times before the end of the year. Bluetooth would be nice but I'm not sure if I would ever use it?I thought about the same thing. Since Verizon decided to have the Motorola Razr phones sent out with OBEX disabled I don't have much of a use for it. Plus I have a USB adapter already that I used on my home computer for my old phone.
RossMAN
If the BlueTooth upgrade was $29 or less I'd get it but $49 seems steep.
Brad
If the BlueTooth upgrade was $29 or less I'd get it but $49 seems steep.Well the $49 upgrade also includes an upgrade to the Intel PRO 3945 WiFi, which they charge $29 for by itself. Don't know if that would make a difference to 99% of the people who would use a laptop like this though. Both the standard WiFi and the upgraded one support .11b/g, so unless you are going to use .11a, there probably isn't a reason.

Who cares about 802.11a.

Seedillume
Well this stinks. I got mine two weeks ago for this price. However, it only came with 24x CD/DVD-ROM combo, 512RAM, and 60GB 5400 RPM drive. I thought about waiting. Now, I know I should have waited
